How does Rapidfire work?
Havent played since beginning of 8th and dont remember how i did it back then.

Now for 10th:

A weapon has 2 shots (A=2) and the Rapidfire 2 trait. It then fires 2+2 on half range?

If it has 1 shot (A=1) and RF 2, it fires 3 on half range?

Is this correct?
It has always been like this?

If your firing model is within half the maximum range of their target, they make twice as many attacks as their listed value.

Example 1: a Bolter is 24" Rapid Fire 1, so if the model was within 12", they would fire 2 shots instead of the normal 1.

Example 2: a Pulse Rifle is 30" Rapid Fire 1, so if the model was within 15", they would fire 2 shots instead of the normal 1.

Example 3: a Storm Bolter is 24" Rapid Fire 2, so if the model was within 12", they would fire 4 shots instead of the normal 2.

Correct, as far as we know.

No, the [Rapid Fire X] rule is new to 10th Edition: before 10th, it has always been "double shots at half [for most editions]/12" [for 4th edition and prior, maybe 5th, but I forget]"
