Fun legion for a recon allied detachment

I'm looking at adding in a small allied detachment to my AL, and to be fun and add more shennanigans to my Alphas. I'm considering 5x recons with any loadout, then a delegatus to accompany them to unlock the recon bonus to go first, combined with the Moebius configuration.

 

I was initially going with Blood Angels as that's what I have - these might be fun with shotguns or bolters, but the delegatus cannot infiltrate with them.

Fists with 5x nemesis bolters would be a strong, but boring choice. Same applies to DA (Firewing for +1 to wound IC's).

 

Thousand Sons with 5xrecons+delegatus with nemesis and athenean? That would give some snipers with a -1Ld debuff on the opponent, which is more messing with my opponent than straight up increased firepower - does the athenean power stack if I have it on both the recons and the delegatus?

 

Death guard allow for a move+shoot nemesis bolter unit, which would be fun.

Raven guard allows the delegatus to infiltrate with the recons, and grants a 6+ FNP. 

 

Any other fun recon+delegatus combos I havent thought of?

Allied detachments can only take 4 troop choices.

Oh, when I say 5x recons, I mean 5 marines in one unit, not 5 units of recons. I'm looking at a bare minimum allied recon company for my Moebius configuration choice. Just seeing what would be fun!

I like the idea of world eater scouts as the recon team and a delegatus on a jump pack running around with them. Like they are ostensibly clearing a path for him to rampage through.

World Eater recon marines can swap their guns for chainswords, and swap those for chainaxes at no cost. Apart from not having a rifle any more, but who cares about that when the nails are biting?

That's two for worldeaters! I guess they get 3A each on the charge with the chainswords/axes? A cheeky recon serge with falax/meteor might be fun.

One attack + two weapons + charging + violence incarnate = 4 attacks per model.

 

World Eaters look like a fun choice for the Moebius Configuration. Keep them cheap and choppy, throw them into the enemy and your opponent will be sure to kill them and give you the sweet VP.

Wolves could be nice - very mobile, and using scouts prefigures their later scouting veteran preferences. It's a shame you can't unlock a recon company with a pathfinder (and it would give utility to this overlooked character).

 

Also for thousand sons, why not use asphyx rather than nemesis bolters. NBs are so overdone, it's fun to try different things :) 

 

Same with other bolter alternatives for other legions - shrapnel scouts for iron warriors, banestrike scouts for Sons of Horus and Alpha Legion, etc?

Great ideas! This is why I came to here for idea - HH is so massive and variable that I hadn't thought of that -also as AL I'm used to not being allowed to take other legions specific wargear. More things to think of!
