Just for my own sanity and clarity - Unwieldy is NOT affected by things that directly improve the Initiative of a character, but IS affected by things alter Initiative Steps - correct?

Random hypothetical;

My Power Fist terminators are suffering from a -1 Initiative debuff - my opponents Power Fist terminators DO NOT strike before mine.

My Power Fist terminators are benefiting from a +1 initiative buff - they DO NOT strike before my opponents power fist terminators.

My Power Fist terminators are charged by Emperor's Children power fist terminators - the Emperor's Children terminators DO strike before mine.

Similarly, if Sudden Strike or Reach granted a model I10, that doesn't mean they get to attack at the same time as Hammer of Wrath, does it?

Unwieldy basically sets the characteristic, which going by the multiple modifiers rules, means it overrides anything else in the standard addition and multiplication parts of calculating a characteristic.

The emperor's children trait doesn't actually change that basic rule. What it does is it tells you to calculate your initiative, and then attack at one step higher. If they charge and get hit by a blind weapon, they still test on initiative 4 or whatever the units normal value is. The rapturous sensation dominion for daemons works the same way.

The hammer of wrath thing is kinda funny, because usually the amount that's generated is determined by the charge move. But if your opposing unit is I10, then they can pile in first at the start of the initiative step, and get more models in base contact for the hammer fo wrath.
