nefarious squirrel
Hello people, May be a bit late, and already covered by someone. But am i correct in thinking that you can no longer shoot with two embarked marines from the top of my rhino? Rhino has no special rules regarding so (3 access points, rear, LH side & RH side) and the vehicle section says….. “Shooting Attacks while Embarked Unless a special rule states otherwise, units Embarked upon a Transport Vehicle may not make Shooting Attacks of any kind. If a Transport Vehicle has a special rule that allows such attacks, that rule will define how such attacks are made” I can find any rule, or have i missed summert? General Zodd
No, I think you’re correct that shooting whilst embarked on a Rhino isn’t allowed. The issue with this rules set is its bones have existed since 3rd edition 40k, so it’s super easy to have half remembered bits of the ~6 or 7 permutations of those rules knocking around in your head. The rule you refer to has definitely existed at some point during that evolution, but it’s not one I think they went with for this edition. The only reason I’m not saying that with more certainty is the peculiar layout of the rulebook has definitely made a fool of me in the past! SkimaskMohawk
Fire points got shuffled exclusively into the building rules. I guess they didn't like the many relentless models shooting heavy weapons out the top. Still a bit of shame that they're so...boring now. They move shooting units up the board fast, and that's it. They used to be mini bunkers back in the heyday of 3rd-5th; you could shoot and the top, and charge out the vehicle if it didn't move. Inability to charge out of a stationary vehicle in 2.0 is one of my biggest gripes. It's a nonsensical change, that really hurts assault armies. But ya, it really hurts the 10 man power armour squads like vets or foot destroyers or what have you.
