New Warhammer Game in Development

Per a press release from Jackalyptic Games, a new Warhammer game is in development. No word on which particular IP they are tackling as of yet, however the studio head has long-running experience in the MMORPG sector.

Warhammer IPs and MMOs have a poor track record.

 

Oof. And then look at the project experience that Jackalyptic is listing. And the fact that they're a division of NetEase.

 

This is the reverse of hype-building for me.

Well, City of Heros/Villains was a decent MMO for it's day. And Star Trek Online did some Interesting things with the format.

 

Color me very cautiously optimistic.

Funded by NetEase is already a massive red flag and working on a bunch of b/c tier mmos's from decades ago isnt great either.

Chinese based company, mentioning where they are from, plans for overseas expansion etc. Pretty common press release style etc. I don't see what you are trying to say, unless you are trying to point out the entities in questions past histories in a roundabout way ?
