Captain Idaho
I was wondering about the new Terminators and we know it's early but I wanted to pick the brains of the community early because some people have seen the models at Warhammer Fest, some people are really good judges of these sorts of things and also who isn't excited for new Terminators? (Maybe Genestealers) Considering size of the models, how appropriate would weapons from other kits be on these bad boys? I'm thinking the Captain might get a magnetised hand swap or 2 (Storm Shield, Power fist, Thunder Hammer, Chainfist etc) but I think the easiest models for that at Cataphractii from both plastic and Resin (I have parts for both). Reckon the size of the fists etc would be OK? Also, I have an Indomitus helmet for my Terminator Captain so he doesn't get one shotted by a Red Shirt. Is it too small you think? Sir Clausel
I think helmets will be same size. Like primaris and firstborn now matches. The weapons might be a little bigger. But im not sure. The storm bolters are definitely bigger. The fists miiiight be a little bigger. I believe thunder hammers and the like will fit fine from most kits. I cant wait to convert and kitbash them. I have some old forge world shields for the assault version waiting :) Captain Idaho 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378759-kitbashing-new-terminators/#findComment-5951677 Share on other sites
Jalleo
I think the terminator fists are bigger than the assault intercessor fist. The old ones are slightly smaller. I cant say for definite as I am at work. Captain Idaho
Thunder Hammers from the Cataphractii kit are fine by me to be fair. They can be a little shorter, like a one handed warhammer rather than the current one handed but really two handed weapons they are. Same generally goes for the bladed weapons and even power fists, provided they're OK at the arms/elbows. It's the hand holding the weapons I guess. Guest Triszin
Weapons would work. Arms wouldnt. Chop off the weapons with the hands mount on new termi Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/378759-kitbashing-new-terminators/#findComment-5951756 Share on other sites
Arkhanist
I think most of the difference is in the legs+waist, with the torso also being slightly larger to given more space for the helmet. The old helmet was rather flat underneath, while the new I think will have a more of a conventional neck. So not sure about the old helmet, but suspect it could work with some GS to mount. For scale, I think the arms are going to be very similar to old Indomitus, such that old indomitus arms will be directly swappable. Cataphractii hands/foreearms should also work fine, though obviously using the whole arm will alter the look given how integrated they are with the shoulderpad. The new storm bolters are a definite improvement with separate barrels and slightly bigger though. Here's a little digital kitbash I did based on the images from here to see how viable leg swaps would be for old terminators, and it looks promising to me!
