So what are we looking at for oldest 40K plastic kits now that the Vyper has been updated? (Not saying it was oldest, but it was up there)

Chaos bikers?

Catachan Jungle Fighters?

I saw a video a while ago that says there is a part thats used in some Eldar kit that dates to 1st ed. Maybe its been updated recently.

the wings on the swooping hawks before they got a plastic kit were the same as their 1st ed kit.

That is not correct. The original Swooping Hawk wings were cast as a pair with a small backpack between them.

The 4th edition models had separate wings which went into sockets on the warrior's back.

Pour one out for the old vyper mould! Do we think the falcon chassis will get a new kit soon also?

I imagine it must be on the to-do list at this point. Will be a bit sad when it goes given how well it's held up for a kit from the very tail end of 2E, but hopefully a remake is an all-around improvement. To be fair, the base design is near perfect, most of the work that needs doing on it is making the underside details a bit curvier and less square. And sprucing up the pilots, of course.

I'll also echo the comments on the Catachans, with the caveat that I think a lot of the hate for the kit comes from the downright atrocious stock photo paintjobs they have on the GW website. I've seen them both unpainted and well painted and whilst yes, they're dated, they're not outright horrible. In need of an update for sure but not unusably, horrifically bad.
