Rumour Engine 06/06/23 Kroot

This one certainly looks Kroot to me, not only do we have the spiney theme many Kroot creatures have but the little triangular trinket on the end matches one worn by a member of the kill team.

[ZeroWolf]

Yeah I'm going kroot. Though watch it be a kroot gang for Necromunda or something like that

[Blight1]

Could also be a skinned kroot.  Those spines match the kroot's legs.

That's what I was thinking.

Some heroic, enterprising xenos-hunter doing the Emperor’s work.

Those quills are much bigger than you find on regular kroot. I think that's probably the hide of one of the big beasties they have on Pech. Whether it's a kroot wearing it or not we'll have to see, but the arrows suggest it might be.

New Kroot shaper?

[Marshal Rohr]

I think that’s what the spears were too. A kroot shaper or some kind of special character for the Tau release.

[Guest Triszin]

This rings a bell.

There's also some old ancient rumors that claimed kroot would be getting a opten top vehicle + a possible supplement. But is rumors is from 8th Ed era

[TrawlingCleaner]

A Shaper with some sort of bow?

I would love to see more Kroot, makes sense with the new Killteam kit too.

The piece in I think the original Tau Codex about them ambushing some Eldar (Rangers maybe?).

[Mithrilforge]

Ha … I only just noticed the stealth’ed ship in the sky of that Kroot pic

that’s what you get for checking the B&C at 4:30 in the morning… !

no matter what it is ,it’ll be exciting!!

It would be great to see more Kroot. I also think they need to be integrated more into the Tau faction as a capable element of the army, along with the Vespids.

I have never liked the Tau in 40k because of how they play (I love how their units look). They only really operate in the shooting phase, and as a result it tends to sway games one way or another - either they get trounced, or they do the trouncing. Hard to balance the faction well in all situations, especially casual, when they need to pull their entire weight in a single phase of the game.

The Tau should have access to some combat units that can actually do a job so their game can be expanded. Even the World Eaters have access to dedicated ranged units.
