What is The Call to Arms, I hear you ask?

The Call to Arms is a new multi-forum event designed to celebrate the coming of Warhammer 40,000's new, 10th Edition, and encourage us all to start a new army, or bring our current armies into the new edition.

The Forums of the B&C are divided up into three Strongholds; Imperium, Chaos, and Xenos.  For the next three months the 7 Forums of the Imperium Stronghold and the AoD Loyalist will be competing to claim Victory over the other Imperial Forums, with all three Strongholds being compared at the conclusion of the Event.

There are two categories for Victory in both the Forums and Strongholds, the Forum/Stronghold who has painted the most points worth of models, and the Forum/Stronghold with the highest % of completion (Participants vs Completions).

Start Date: 1st July

End Date: 30th September

How do I join in?

Models for The Call to Arms have been allocated a point value based around their size, the time they take to paint, and the amount of effort generally taken to paint them, this is why some models of different sizes appear in the same categories, and why Characters are worth more.

The below list should cover every model for the Astartes;

1pt    Scouts, PA mkII through mkX, Terminators

2pts   Centurions, Bikes, Thunderwolf Cavalry, Outriders, Firestrike Turret, Thundefire Cannon,

All points are per model. For example if you pledge 20 Intercessors (1ptx20), 3 Outriders (2ptsx3), a Redmptor (3pts), and a Gravis Captain (5pts), your vow would be worth 34pts

If you have any questions or queries, or there's a model you want to paint but isn't listed, just @Grotsmasha or @Triszin and we'll be more than happy to help you out.

Please feel free use this thread as a place to share your thoughts, ideas, and WIPs throughout the Event to motivate and inspire the Astartes, and the Imperium to Victory!!!

I have too many Dreadnoughts - said no one ever. Seriously, I have 3 ETB Redemptors, 2 MPK Redemptors, a Brutalis, a Ballistus, and even a scout Dread (I believe you all call it an Invictor War suit - but to each there own). I need to order a few more bits to modify them, and then see what I have ready for this challenge. I really need to get them built and painted.

Hmm ok, I suppose I ought to do this.

I started painting a stormspeeder and apothecary biologis today. I’ll pledge those and some other things I’m working on. Hopefully that will be possible, despite tons of other stuff going on right now in real life.

Here we go. Decided to do my 40k marines as Scythes of the Emperor, creating a casual link to my loyalist Iron Warriors. Means I need to source some good non nurgle scythes for them.

@Galron@Castlerook Just a reminder guys that the actual pledges need to here in the Forge.  I didn't check so if you already did that, great!  I just want to make sure your vows get counted.

I finished my Apothecary but had to lay off the Land Raider for a bit while I rushed a few half-finished Chaos models for a tournament.  I'll be picking the project back up this week.  I'll put up a WIP at some point.

I assembled, magnetized, and pledged to paint an ironclad less than a week before the discontinue announcement was made. It's the last mini in my vow, and I just started painting it last night.

It's kinda strange painting a unit that you know won't have rules in a month. That said, I've got an RTT at the end of the month though that I'm going to field him in. Give him a proper sendoff, you know.

Him, my attack bikes, my boxnaughts, and maybe even my VV's, if I can get them painted in time.

I don't have the kind of practice or collection needed to win an event like that, so I'm just gonna show up and do the best I can with what I've got.

if I'm lucky, I might be in the running for best painted through virtue of actually having a fully painted and based army! XD

I did pretty poorly in the RTT, but had a blast.

The Ironclad, however, was MVP in the first match against Votann. He walked through 2 sagitaurs before tanking a full shooting phase from a Hekaton to the face! He proceeds to charge said Hekaton and dealt 11 wounds to it! The matches were only 2.5 hours each, so we called the game after turn 3.

a fine sendoff indeed.
