Chimeras and Heavy Weapon Squad

For 10th edition Chimeras, I understand the “firing deck 2” rule as it would apply if I had regular guardsmen embarked - 2 of those models could deploy their ranged weapons during the shooting phase while still embarked.

 

But what if a Heavy Weapon Squad is embarked?  For clarity, let’s say my squad is made up of three separate weapons - lascannon, autocannon and heavy bolter.  The fire deck rule says that 2 “models” can fire - does each heavy weapon count as one model, or two?  Could I deploy both the lascannon and autocannon from the firing deck? Or does a HW Team count as two models for this purpose?

Heavy weapon teams are one model for rules purposes, they just take up transport capacity for two. So if you choose to use it from the Chimera's firing deck you can fire its weapons and one other models.

You get to shoot the chimeras guns and 2 of the heavy weapons squads guns. The heavy weapon squad is 3 models. They only count as 2 for purposes of transport capacity.

Would they be firing at bs5?

Yes. Unless the transport remained stationary, in which case they’d get the +1 for heavy. Difficult to get orders on as well, since they’re squadron.
