Sky Potato
I’m looking to get some more 25mm bases, but I specifically need the ones with the holes if I can. But for some reason, I can’t seem to find the official GW ones anywhere online. Anybody have any idea where I can find them? I need at least 10. If I can’t find them, I know I can just snip the posts off and glue the model direct to a normal 25mm base, but the connection will be stronger using the foot post and the hole in the base. Orion
Ebay has heaps. Some look like official bases too. Direct from gw you can only get filled in ones. Sky Potato
EBay has loads of 25mm bases - plenty of slotted ones, I can’t find any with the holes. What are you searching on eBay for them? Orion
I'm not sure GW has ever made a 25mm base with holes. What model is this for? I pin all my models with bits of paperclip and holes drilled with a pinvice. Not sure if that gives you any options. Sky Potato
The Leviathan models have 25mm bases with holes. I definitely didn’t glue the 25mm bases for the Neurogaunts to the Termagaunts which are supposed to have 28.5mm bases Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/379365-25mm-gw-bases-with-holes/#findComment-5967600 Share on other sites
LameBeard
I think the bases with holes are the new Leviathan ones. Maybe 25mm, or 28.5mm or both. So eBay and bits stores will end up with them soon. edit: I believe that is what people on this forum call “ninja’d!” good luck with the basing. Worth trying to prise apart after a hairdryer warm-up? Orion
Oh, no wonder I'm so confused. Sorry haven't had a close look at leviathan. Best of luck! And when in doubt - Pinvice! Nah, I ran Tamiya extra-thin around the stud that slots into the base - which had cured for 24 hours before I realised mistake. They ain’t coming out. The only thing stopping me snipping the stud off the neurogaunts and just pinning them to normal 25mm bases is effort, if truth be told. I do it for resin models, but the neurogaunts are very spindly & delicate. Guess I’ll just keep a watch on eBay. I hadn’t realised the 25mm ones with holes were new - but I guess there was nothing ETB prior to this that was 25mm, the smallest Necron bases were 28.5mm weren’t they? LameBeard
Hmm, I hadn’t thought about Easy-to-Build. The 40mm holes have been there since the beginning though, so it’s strange that they are new in some sense. Some easy-to-builds have been slotta-bases at 32mm so maybe at 25mm? Would drilling new holes at the right diameter be too much work? I mean the work would be protecting the base so it wasn’t completely obliterated by the drill … Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/379365-25mm-gw-bases-with-holes/#findComment-5967683 Share on other sites

I know my GK Terminators had to have holes cut/drilled out of them. They just had the pre defined spots with a supporting tube for the foot pin. Grotsmasha
I suspect someone in your life has a drill, and an appropriate sized drill bit. Hell, you could probably make appropriately sized holes for all 10 bases in 10mins. Start with a pin-vise, largest drill bit you've got, and then twist a hobby knife in the hole to widen. Once you put your basing stuff on, no one will be any the wiser. Did exactly that yesterday for my Infernus, who I’m sticking on some spare void war bases.
