Hello everyone, it’s been a long while since I’ve posted on the B&C. I’ve decided to come back because I’ve missed the back and forth that a project log generates.

For my first post back then, an introduction to Watch Company Quartus of the Watch Fortress Castilos Nullifact. And some friends.

I decided to run with this Watch Fortress because it is located reasonably close to Baal and as I’m a player who values fluff over power, I wanted a valid in-universe reason for my BA army and the Watch to link up every so often.

The force thus far was built during the latter stages of 8th edition and mostly painted during the 9th era. As things stand at the moment, some of the squads are not 10th edition legal but before I do any reorganising, I’ll hold fast and see what the new army list brings.

I’ve organised the army as a pure First born force and as an in game hook, that’s one of the reasons why the Watch Company is larger than the traditional four Kill teams.

So, without further ado, I’ll start adding some pictures of the models

Watch Master Octavius Teros of the Nemesis Chapter

Even before he came to serve the Long Vigil, Teros was known across the Nemesis Chapter for his Xenophobic leanings. During his third Vigil, the previous Watch Master was killed by a powerful Necron Overlord. Teros had acquitted himself heroically during the same engagement and was unanimously chosen as the new Watch Master. Time has tempered his previous Xenophobia and whilst he will not suffer the Alien to live, he has learned the wisdom of using Xenos to fight other Xenos where circumstances dictate. All the better that his enemies weaken themselves before he sends in his elite Kill teams to finish the job.

Hope you enjoyed reading this little bit of fluff and the model that goes with it. Next up, Watch Captain Esteban Mendoza of the Crimson Fists….

Thanks Smoke Frog. I wanted his Chapter to be one of the lesser known ones but also one where I might find a reasonable Chapter badge within some of the many old transfer sheets that I have.

Next on the Watch Company list, Watch Captain Esteban Mendoza from the Crimson Fists. Captain Mendoza was recruited by the Crimson Fists after they’d suffered grievous losses during the Rynns World campaign. Trained by embittered veterans of the bloody campaign against the Orkish hordes, Mendoza has made it his life’s work to exterminate the Xenos in any way that he can. As shown by his chosen weaponry, he leads from the front, smashing through any obstacle that is put in his path.

This chap is a kit bash from Captain Artemis, replacing his combi bolter and power sword with a Thunder Hammer and Storm shield.

I like the repurposing of other models into new Characters its the small changes that go a long way.  I like where this is going

Thank you. There’s a couple of instances within the force where I’ve done that. As I’ve picked up a few spares along the way, I thought I’d do some kitbashing.

Next up is another Watch Captain and his squad, this time in Tactical Dreadnought armour. Captain Or’ban of the Salamanders and Kill Team Zediel

Great work and some great work on those heads/ faces. Really hard to pull off.

good work on the salamander as well, I’m currently trying to paint a bare head for one and hard to pull off Vulcan black well.

like the little scratch highlights, little heavy on the cloak, your also having the same issue I used to with text when writing, personally I find army painter psycho brushes really help with this.

love the work you have done highlighting the weapons, really next level effort adding the highlights to the edges.

great work on the basing as well, far too many people skip this step.

one thing I’ve noticed is on your silver left arms you’ve not painted the armoured joint tubing and it makes it look a little flat and it would add allot with that little detail.

sorry if I’m telling you how to suck eggs, I just like receiving useful feedback myself and try to do the same.

great work though mate, keep it up.
