apologist
Hi all, I'm working on a new project themed around the Battle for Armageddon (the second war; the first against Waa-Ghazghkull), and would like to the models' bases to evoke the sandy desert of the period. The paints have changed quite a bit, so do you have any suggestions for getting something like this using the modern GW (or other) colours? Solution Azaiel Posted July 4, 2023 Solution Share Posted July 4, 2023 My suggestion would be Mournfang brown base and then a heavy Zamesi Desert drybrush and Ushabti Bone drybrush. apologist, Grotsmasha and sarabando 1 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/379404-armageddon-basing-request/#findComment-5968341 Share on other sites

The names were different back then but this is basically the process. I think it was snakebite leather as a base back then. apologist 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/379404-armageddon-basing-request/#findComment-5968410 Share on other sites

Firedrake Cordova
I have that boxed set, and the paint key isn't overly helpful - it just says Bestial Brown (although it could just mean that's the rim colour) @Azaiel's suggestion sounds like it would give a good result, though apologist 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/379404-armageddon-basing-request/#findComment-5969579 Share on other sites

Reveal hidden contents The bareheaded sarge is white not coal skinned like he should be. Yeah, that was before GW retconned the Salamanders' appearance. Which if I remember was a couple of years after the Armageddon Global Campaign.
