Airborne!

Now that we are no longer limited to 2 aircraft  I decided my Elysians needed a repaint. Yeah they lack  many of the traits that made them "true" Elysians but then so do all the specialist regiments. Funny enough I had just stripped all my Elysian models prior to aircraft getting nerfed last edition. Like literally finished the stripping the week before. So lets hope GW doesnt hate airborne units so badly this edition. They already hurt aircraft with the not being able to go back and forth between hover and zoom.

 

Command squad

5 infantry squads with plasma and missile launchers

3 Valks with lascannons, missile pods, heavy bolters

1 Avenger Strike Fighter

2 Vultures with punisher cannons

2 Elysian Sniper squads

2 Heavy Weapon teams with mortars

2 Drop Sentinels with multi-meltas

1 attaches unit.

Looks like a fun army to play with an impressive look on the field and I think should do well in casual games.

I've looked at the valk and the avenger this edition and yuck!  The avenger's gun is ridiculously underpowered (not to mention they took away my missiles) and the valk is insanely overcosted.  I love the theme, but it won't stand up in even a casual game. Maybe a narrative one against carefully balanced opposition...

Yeah, it does!  so much dakka with twin gatling!  And the vendeta isn't terrible, either.  My poor avenger has been reduced to the stillborn offspring of those two.  Less than 1/3 as many shots as the vulture, with a pip of S, AP, and D.  And 2 lascannons vs 3 twinlinked ones.
