Ghune Posted July 30, 2023 Share Posted July 30, 2023 For Cadian Shock Troops, it looks like for every 10 models, one Shock Trooper armed with lasgun can be equipped with a vox-caster. In a 20 man squad, this would let you have dual vox-casters. Looks like the Battleforge app lets you do this. Is there a reason you would want to do this, other than having combined (2) 10-man squads that already had their individual vox-casters? Per the index, here’s the wargear ability: Quote Each time you target the bearer’s unit with a Stratagem, roll one D6, adding 1 to the result if there are one or more friendly Officer models within 6": on a 5+, you gain 1CP Would this perhaps allow a second roll for that CP if you missed it with the first roll? Santaclauswitz Posted July 30, 2023 Share Posted July 30, 2023 (edited) It'd be nice... personally I don't think RAW or RAI would allow for that. It's a nice little buff getting a cp on a 4+. Not so useful if taking Lord Solar. In all reality there's only two squads where taking a vox is a real choice. Death korp squads can take plasma instead of a vox. Scions lose the lasgun for a las pistol. All the other squads have the vox as well as a lasgun so you might as well take the vox because you gain something but lose nothing. Edit- I do realise that scions can only take one vox! I should have mentioned that! It's just an example of where there is a difference between having one and not. If that makes sense? It is a wargear ability, so each model with that wargear gets it. The commentary states that you can't stack core abilities, but says nothing about wargear abilities. Some abilities can't be stacked, but they are always worded in a way that makes that clear. So I don't see anything stopping a wargear ability being used twice if you have two.
