Looking for a list of the current Primaris Helmet colors of the Blood Angels

I mean, I don't think anything has changed. Red for battle line (troops), yellow for close support (assault), blue for fire support (heavy weapons), gold for veteran.

It's not that easy anymore. I know where you coming from. Primaris have watered the lines between the classic battlefield roles. Take Aggressors as an example. Two fists and either flamers or short ranged bolt weaponry. Close support? Nope, blue helmets for fire support. Incursors yellow but Infiltrators red. Both of them troops in the last edition. Eliminators don't wear helmets per se? Just some half masks with goggles.

So here is what I'm mostly sure about:

Gold: Bladeguard

Red: Intercessors, Infiltrators,

Yellow: Inceptors, Incursors, Outriders, Reivers (weirdos),

Blue: Aggressors, Hellblasters

I guess blue desolators are a save bet.

Gold: Bladeguard, sternguard, lieutenants, vanguard, company veterans

Red: Intercessors, Infiltrators, captains, terminators, tacticals

Yellow: Inceptors, Incursors, Outriders, Reivers, assault intercessors, assault squads, bikers, atv, attack bikes, landspeeders, storm speeders, assault centurions

Blue: Aggressors, Hellblasters, eradicators, desolation squad, infernus squad, suppressors, eliminators, devastators, devastator centurions

Most of them are based on official paint jobs we have seen, either in displays at Warhammer world, or in articles. Don’t think I missed any units but yeah it’s never been totally straightforward because terminators have always been red despite being veterans. Assault terminators aren’t even yellow.

the primaris units and changes to force orgs over the past few editions have just further complicated it.

I agree with all of it except Captains. They are Command. In the 9th edition codex it shows command units as being gold helmed.

Also all of my Blood Angel Captains have helms of gold ;) .. I don't want to repaint them lol.

+Heavy Intercessors in the 'RED' section of Blindhamster's list

EDIT:
It does gets tricky with single characters like Company Champion (did we loose the Chapter Champion btw?) and Ancient.
In my opinion, their helmets' colors depend on the Company (and armor type).

a company champ is going to be good. No way they aren’t a veteran

By that token so are Devastators.

No. That would be heavily armed. A significant difference there.

They're also not battleline.

No, heavy intercessors guns are barely stronger than regular intercessors, their big selling point is resilience, rather than offence.

regardless, they’re red helmeted, official models have shown it as such.

Can you post the official Blood Angels models for the Heavy Intercessors?  Unless it is in the Codex I have never seen a studio painted model/squad in Blood Angels colors.

EDIT: Found it after some digginb..

This page is from the 8th edition codex.

I've cross-referenced the 9th edition codex too and the info is the same. This page just presented it more concisely.

and this is the roles forest from the codex. I hope this isn't against the rules...IMG_8712.thumb.jpeg.68291968939bc11f36708c018634f06c.jpeg

I think there is a lot of confusion here over the fact that a units in game role for list building purposes and force organization are not that same as codex astartes order of battle... Those 2 shouldn't be conflated.

I know, and agreed. If you look at what I posted, the units battlefield roles don't all line up with where they would have fallen in previous edition's FOC's. Heck, Fast Attack isn't even there!

Yeah, you are 100% correct. That was more in response to those who were confused in the thread about analysis of what certain units are equipped with vs what their categorical battlefield role is. When one understands that their modelled appearance is based on the astartes order of battle and not what category they fit into on the tabletop for the game, it's a bit easier to understand what is going on.

Although I paint as accurately as possible to the codex I am going to paint heavy intercessors and potentially hellblasters with red helmets.

A. 1 heavy bolter doesn't equal support squad.

B. I may not ever field intercessors and there's precious few red helmets as it is.

I prefer my BAs with mostly red helmets. Vets and Officers get gold. Libbies get blue and Apothecaries/Priests get white.

For Heavy Intercessors, I think red is actually the official colour IIRC.
