Triarii Themed World Eaters Army?

Hi guys,

 

I read about the Triarii recently, and thought it would be really cool to theme my World Eaters around a Triarii company. I’m not expecting to be super competitive or optimized (mainly just doing this because I think it will be fun narrative to build the army around, and an army of World Eaters with boarding shields will look very striking imo). 
 

Unfortunately, I can’t see any way to make massed Breachers appealing for World Eaters. As far as I can tell they have no ability to take melee weapons at all, which is unfortunate. 
 

I think with a Praetor with the Butcher’s Claws warlord trait, and a Chaplain, a big blob of 20 Breachers could do okay (strength 5, 40-ish attacks on the charge) coming out of a Spartan. Especially with an Apothecary, they’d be a real pain to remove. 
 

Conversely, I could do two sets of Command Squads with boarding shields, and possibly lightning claws and chainaxes, which is more on brand for World Eaters, but then I’d have to figure out how to fill out my Troops slots in a way that works somewhat with the theme (if possible).

 

I was thinking that running The Crimson Path could be entertaining for a further increase in durability.
 

Anyway, like I said, not looking to be super competitive, just wondering if anyone has thoughts about how best to build out this army given the theme?

I think legion command squads are your best bet for Boardingshield wielding WEs that actually perform. That said I think you could probably sprinkle a couple of ornamental Boarding shields through your despoiler/tactical/rampager squads to get the look. Gowarhead on Instagram built an incredible Void War themed WE Force, be sure to check that out for inspiration.
