40k_fan
This thread exists as a narrative repository for never-before-seen species and subspecies of Tyranids. Format: Name: (...) Type: (eg Bio-titan, Gaunt, Warrior, Carnifex, Spore, etc... if unique, put "Unique") Fleet of Origin: ("N/A" if not Fleet Specific) Status: (extant or extinct) Description: (appearance, reason for being, abilities) Example: Name: Shrieking Spores Type: Spore Species Fleet of Origin: N/A Status: Extant Description: These spores are round, bulbous sacks, covered in dripping fanged mouths. A shrieking spore floats aimlessly until it detects movement nearby that doesn't match the movement pattern of a Tyranid. Should this occur, it will unleash a piercing shriek, drawing any nearby tyranids to it, and driving them into a mad frenzy. Name: Praedator Guard Type: Tyrant Guard Variation Fleet of Origin: N/A Status: Unknown Description: The existence of the Praedator is not spoken of often, as it represents a very real threat to the Imperium few wish to acknowledge. Because a Praedator is born when the handcrafted DNA of one of the Emperor's own Adeptus Custodes is taken and used by a Tyranid hive... What one of these abominations looks like, few except the most experienced xenologists of the highest echelons of the Imperium truly knows. Just as the Custodes are warded by a spark of the Emperor's divinity, so too are the Praedator by a potent aspect The Hive Mind. That and they are very deadly and hyperefficient by virtue of what they are and therefore one can extrapolate that they would tend to not leave many witnesses, should they show up. Of note, they are more intelligent in contrast with Tyrant Guards or Hive Guards; in other words, more than thick-skulled brutes. Name: Electrovore Type: Biovore Fleet of Origin: Unknown Status: Extant Description: These creature naturally generate static electricity from porcupine with biological lightning rods. It builds up energy, storing it in balloon-like sacks. In battle, it acts as a sort of sniper, singling out targets and smiting them with lightning, but if faced with a large horde of enemies, it can also release an unfocused burst of bio-electricity, stunning the enemies foolish enough to get close to it like an electric eel, and scrambling any nearby electronics like an EMP. When given the chance, it seeks out power cords to feed on to build up even more energy. 40k_fan
Name: Piscagants AKA "Tyranhas" Fleet of Origin: Unknown Status: Termagant, Ripper Swarm An aquatic version of the termagant? Why wouldn't there be one, they adapt to all environments, after all. It's said a swarm of them can skeletonize a Grox in under two minutes! Jokes aside, yeah, these are basically swimming, amphibious termagants and ripper swarms. Nothing much too it past that. An "aquatic tyranid prime" might exist too, if spurious reports are to be believed.
