After skipping out on 9th edition I've found myself stirred to use the models I own instead of just look at them. A local league is starting up next month and it's about as casual as it'll come I think, with matched pairs playing a game on their schedule over a two-week period, so here I am signing up and getting ready. I have played the game over several editions and more or less know the strengths and weaknesses of the units in my collection but I have no idea what this Leviathan Mission Deck has in store for me, and it's sold out everywhere anyway even if I did want to study up. My question to those of you willing to read my list and chime in is this:

What major pitfalls or hurdles do you foresee me coming up against as I draw cards and find out my objectives?

Traditionally I've played a pretty slow moving army that holds backfield objectives and has a strong enough assault element to push forward if the enemy hangs back. I guess my main concern is not being able to adapt to shifting goals with a mostly infantry army. This is what I'll be bringing:

Warlord - Overlord w. Voidscythe, Resurrection Orb, Veil of Darkness [105]

Technomancer [60]

10x Lychguard w. Hyperphase Swords and Dispersion Shields [190]

Technomancer [60]

20x Warriors w. Gauss Flayers [240]

Technomancer [60]

20x Warriors w. Gauss Flayers [240]

10x Immortals w. Gauss Blasters [140]

6x Lokhust Destroyers [180]

2x Lokhust Heavy Destroyers w. Gauss Destructor [90]

Doomsday Ark [185]

Doom Scythe [225]

Doom Scythe [225]

My collection sort of is what it is, I don't really have any substitutions to make. I have Wraiths, Scarabs, a Spyder, Triarch Stalker, Nightbringer, a Lord, and a Lokhust Lord I'm not using but I'm not really sure they'll do me any better than what's here. One thing I'm considering working toward is swapping the 6x Destroyers for another 4x LHDs, but that might be a change seen closer to mid season. That will depend on how much time I have around painting the last few models for this list.

Once things get going I'll post up my trials and tribulations learning 10th edition. I'm really looking forward to rolling some dice again!

Your flyers are pretty sad only taking part in 4 turns. You have great options in your sideboard to go get objectives so a sub or two there will make you infinitely more dangerous.

In the past I've had a lot of issues dealing with armour, though I suppose shifting to Heavy Destroyers would be a more effective solution once I have weapons to put on models.

I could swap one Scythe for my 6x Wraiths straight up, and if I wanted to get rid of both I could add in my Triarch Stalker to support my Immortals, 6x Scarabs, and give the Technomancer accompanying my Lychguard the Hypermaterial Ablator enhancement. As much as I'd like to I'm not sure the Nightbringer would be a good choice, seems way too easy to shoot off the board at range.

This is what I've ended up submitting in the day between the new points dropping and the league starting. I've also had what I consider great success 3d printing my replica heavy gauss cannons of yesteryear for the rest of my Heavy Destroyers. I -think- my first opponent plays Chaos Space Marines. Wraiths are wysiwyg since I got the models built and haven't broken apart and replaced the whip coils.
