Fall 23 Dataslate: Devastating Wounds + Lethal Hits viable combo now?

With the changes to Devastating Wounds, how does the interaction with Lethal Hits now work? Does this combo make sense now, or is it pointless to take them together? Still trying to wrap my head around it and hoping someone wiser than I can explain it. 
do Critical Hits then produce extra hits AND automatic wounds (for which you’d have to roll as normal)?

Lethal hits are auto wounds, but not critical wounds, so they are not candidates for DW. 
 

You might be thinking about Sustained Hits (critical hits proc extra hits). Sustained Hits are just like all other hits when they get to the 'roll wounds' step, so they are fully viable to be DW.

Yeah, nothing has really changed in regards to this combo. It still doesn't stack at all.

On the bright side, it did make DW more lethal since many characters that buffed units with feel no pains did it specifically against mortal wounds. Chaplains are now kind of meh.

DW weapons are gonna be aces against Custodes though!
