@Sea Creature has been permanently banned as a sockpuppet for @BLACK BLΠFLY, a person's second account to be banned here (the first was Bloodythirster along with a number of sockpuppets, including @Mountain Angel). This person has a long history of abusive and disruptive behavior, despite numerous efforts over the years to effect a change in his behaviors.

 

We've suspected that SC was a sockpuppet for BBF for quite some time (basically, as long as the rest of the community). The evidence was circumstantial at first, but it piled up until it became convincing. Even then, the account was allowed to survive for the basic reason that banning it would simply lead to this person creating a new account under a new email address. Despite his professed disdain for the site and its members, he is pathologically incapable of staying away and will go to extreme lengths to continue "participating" at the site (even though he brings very little to the table).

 

However, his external actions (at his own Facebook page) have warranted action. He very childishly attacks members of the B&C when they have no recourse to defend themselves (which, considering the age he claims for himself, is shameful). We can't do anything at his Facebook page, but we can do something here.

 

When he comes back (and he will come back because he lacks the emotional maturity to stay away) and we figure out his new name, we'll ban that one, too. And we'll continue doing so until he either stays away or grows up and learns how to behave. So we're left to play whack-a-mole with the equivalent of a poo flinging monkey. This doesn't mean that we'll just ban anyone on account of suspicion of being a BBF sockpuppet, however. It wouldn't be fair to ban people out of hand just because they act like a jackass. If we ever compile sufficient compelling evidence, however, we'll take care of the issue in an appropriate manner.

I'm not sure who sent this message to BBF/SC, though I have my suspicions. As far as I can tell, the message exchange did not take place here at the B&C. Realistically, while we can't control what you do outside of the B&C, this is the type of communications that we recommend against, even if it is/seems fully justified. Any use of the B&C for this type of communication, and that includes PMs and emails in addition to public content, will result in disciplinary action. Assuming this message wasn't sent via the B&C, it's not subject to our community standards, however. I hope that the author of this message sees how this type of thing, cathartic as it might seem, can cause problems further down the road.

 

We've already seen how dishonest BBF is at his Facebook site, twisting facts and outright lying to portray himself as the victim and others as the aggressors. BBF didn't provide any context for this message. It's possible that this message was sent without any provocation on BBF's part, but it's also possible (likely, even) that this was in response to some provocation on the part of BBF. For example, BBF has made a habit of posting false and insulting information about B&C members at his Facebook page. It could be that one of his victims saw such a post and sent the above message in response (or there may have been a series of messages exchanged between the two). Ultimately, I can only guess at the full context since I wasn't involved. Regardless, the B&C is not the place for such communications.

 

That BBF attributes the message to me, implying that it was done either at my request or with my permission/blessing, is both ridiculous and troubling. He is clearly a very disturbed individual and in need of help. People that visit his site and who don't visit the B&C won't know any better, however, especially given BBF's unhealthy obsession with us. No B&C members need to be going to his Facebook page to defend our honor (please don't do that). If you see him make Facebook posts that are intended to be harmful to the B&C or its members, especially if you think he is being less than honest, the best options are to either ignore him or send me a screenshot (we'll take action, if necessary, and will file it away in our ever-growing archive of BBF nonsense that has earned him a status as persona non grata at the B&C). More importantly, it's always wise to check facts before you take anything you see on the Internet at face value, especially from sources that have repeatedly demonstrated themselves to be dishonest.

Context for the above. The person that exchanged the messages with BBF wasn't who I thought it was. Apparently, BBF and this member had a disagreement here at the B&C. So BBF made a nasty post at his Facebook page. This created an exchange of messages/comments between the two:

 

 

I'm not sure how long that message/comment exchange lasted or what the other messages/comments were because BBF has since removed the post and message/comment chain. However, it culminated (?) in the message that BBF posted in the screenshot in the above post. So, aside from whatever conflict occurred here at the B&C, the message that BBF attributed to me was actually the result of provocation on his part.

 

I thought the message sender was actually someone else - another case where a conflict here at the B&C led to BBF making a nasty post at his site about a B&C member.

 

 

Aside from the childishness of this kind of behavior (this is at the maturity level of pre-teens, after all), this is very antisocial behavior and not welcome within this community, and is representative of why BBF will no longer be allowed to participate within the community. Disagreeing with people is fine and natural, but treating people with a basic level of dignity and respect is required to remain within this community. As you can see, BBF provoked the nasty messages with his own childishness. The responses he received are of his own doing, but had they been sent via the B&C instead of at his Facebook page, we would have been compelled to take action against the members (justified as they may have been in retaliating).

 

Again, though, it's always better to get the full story. I doubt that the screenshots encapsulate everything, but they make it clear that BBF is misrepresenting things in order to make false assertions. He is clearly not the victim here. Most of you here understand that, but I worry that his FB followers that aren't B&C members may fall for his lies.
