I just came home from watching Expendables 4 in the cinema and was wondering what kind of a mobile forces (every unit either embarked, mounted or equipped with a jump pack) could you field at a maximum? So the limiting factor for an army won´t be points but cargo capacity of the Thunderhawk.

BolS says:

30 SM whereas 1 SM uses up 1 cc (cargo capacity). Further statements were:

- Terminator uses up 2 cc. So maximum 15 Terminators.

- Bike uses up 3 cc and a trike 4 cc.

- Dreadnought uses up 5 cc. So six in total.

Are these stats still valid or have they been retconned? What about APCs (Rhino), land speeders and battle tanks (Sicaran, Kratos, Predator, etc.)? Do they fit or are they too large?

Previews of Legions Imperialis hint at a possible retcon on the way, because it looks like LI Thunderhawks can carry a lot more Astartes than their Imperial Armour counterparts in previous editions of WH40k. Might be nothing, but equally you might want to keep an eye out for that in case we get a new lore dump in the near future.

Tanks use a different vehicle, the thunderhawk transporter. IIRC it can carry (slung under the hull) two rhino chassis tanks or one land raider.

I assume the Russian doll tactic is not allowed here to put full squads in underslung transports while being lifted by a Thunderhawk?
