Greetings!

I am planning on a Adeptus Mechanicus custom paint scheme and I got down the base paints. However I don't know what paints I should use for layering. I would like some suggestions.

The Base paints are...

Vallejo 72.027 Scurvy Green for the outside robes.

Citadel Eshin Grey for the inside robes & edge-highlighting black.

Vallejo 70.837 Pale Sand for wings, under-bodies & insides of the Skorpius transport.

Vallejo 70.950 Black for guns & non-robes clothes.

Vallejo 71.336 A-14 Steel Grey for armour plates.

Vallejo 72.047 Wolf Grey for cybernetics & kastelan robots.

Pro Acrylic Bright Neutral Grey for the middle of the kastelan torso and for stripes.

Thank you in advance!

Rather than getting paints to highlight, why not build up the highlights in a consistent color?

For instance, if you wanted a more warm tone to the light, you could highlight with an ivory for all the colors you outlined, or if you want a colder light, you could use an ice blue to mix into each of your base colors for the highlight.  You could build layers in a 3:1, 2:1, 3:2, 1:1, 1:2 fashion, with the spot highlight of your chosen highlight color, or even a white for the sharpest corners.

The problem with choosing other colors as highlights (which is something I usually do as well) is that unless the colors you choose all have the same warm/cold tone, your highlights can end up looking a little weird - so you have to decide which direction you want to go with your highlights before you could get really good color suggestions.
