Just got an order of Sekhmet to convert into Scarab Occult. Really impressed with the cast quality. Ordered some Contekhar a year back and the flash was problematic, especially on the chainweapons (had to carve out a side of each chainblade). Also the hooks were terrible.

The Iliastus are great.

Overall, I'm seeing am improvement from 5-7 years ago. My Rapiers all needed a fair amount of water bath, for instance.

Anyone else notice this?

EDIT: Mods, if you'd rather this in Amicus, I'd not object

In my experience, any sculpt from after 2020ish has been solid. Easy enough to put together, no real issues beyond the odd bit of gap filling and clean up, but nothing like the horror stories in years gone.

Anything older that is still more so-so, but 'generally' better than it has been in years gone. Unfortunately it just seems like there's some moulds which are persistently awful (I've never heard a good thing about the Malcador or Fire Raptor even recently).

Really good. My Word Bearers had very little cleanup at all.
Even old kits, like the Trojan (1999) were great casts (other than the fact that the Chimera chassis has changed, so you need to cut a part slightly to fit)

Outside of the money stuff it does drive me nuts how much people badmouth resin.
Maybe it was bad in the past, but it certainly isn't now.

My Storm Eagle (circa 2016) was only lightly warped- lots of glue and some overnight pipe clamps and it was fine

While the resin spartan had its issues, the move to plastic, its one kit I don't like. It has too many extension parts because its a dual kit with the proteus. The proteus, I put that together very quickly. The spartan should have been a completely separate stand alone kit design with fewer parts + larger ones without the need for the extension parts. This would have likely made the kit more expensive, but it would have been worth it to me because I value my time and patience/ enjoyment more.
