Marshal Mittens
Most modern space marine Lore has marines being recruited at very young ages, but I seem to recall older templar lore having Templars recruited later, often much later, in life. Is this still the lore? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/380691-do-black-templars-recruit-older-humans/ Share on other sites
redmapa
I dont think that was ever in the lore, Damnation Crusade was the only time shown where BT recruited an older man so perhaps the idea comes from there. BT recruit the same as other chapters, children and teenagers and while the astartes process can take men they are an exception. Karhedron
The only Chapter I can recall accepting older intake are the Space Wolves. While the Canis Helix makes their geneseed less stable than many other Chapters', the flip side is that it can successfully elevate fully grown men into Astartes. When Russ was reunited with the Emperor, many of his comrades from Fenris were elevated into the Space Wolves Legion and became the first Wolf Guard or Varagyr. Sword Brother Adelard
Were they full Astartes? Or more like More Phaeton and Luther?
