Anybody got any ideas on a brighter silver rattle can colour than Leadbelcher? I’m looking for something kind of Ironbreaker or Runefang Steel kind of brightness.

I’ve spent most of today basing Necrons in Ironbreaker after spraying Leadbelcher, and I would love to know if there’s a better way.

I've not used their metallics, so can't give a full personal recommendation, but I'd suggest looking at the following:

  • Army Painter plate mail metal - not sure how dark/bright it is, I've used their Dark angels Green and Blood red I find them decent but a bit thick and sometimes not as good at latching on to later paint layers as other primers
  • TT Combat Sabre Silver - This one might be a bit bright for you unless you shade it down, I've only used their Khorne red equivilent, which was pretty good but a bit to glossy in finish for my liking
  • ColourForge Steelforge silver - I've not tried these, but I've heard nothing but good things, but the one I want to try has been out of stock the last two times I've ordered from someone who carries them - Their colour chart suggests it's a match for leadbelcher, which is lighter than the actual leadbelcher spray comes out for me, which is closer to Iron Warrior.

Tamiya silver leaf is very bright, about ironbreaker, however it is not an acrylic paint (though acrylics go over it no problem) and includes nasty stuff like formaldehyde, so wear a mask!
