Endorsements or suggestions for magnetized carry cases

+1 for the Really Useful Box method. You can pick them up for a few quid apiece from loads of different stationery or craft stores, they come in various different capacities. The rubber ferrous sheets for the base work out at about £1.50 each (you can get them on Amazon) so if you've already magnetised the bases on your minis the cost is pretty low.

Here's a shot of one of mine in action holding about 80 models

This is the 4L size (same one Duncan used) which is great for infantry up to the size of a Terminator or Barbgaunt. Anything taller than that would need to go in a 9L box, but that size also covers you all the way up to Redemptors and Screamer-Killers. For very tall stuff you want the 14L (this size fits my Winged Hive Tyrant and Hive Crone), and the 19L is big enough to fit a Knight Decimator with plenty of room to spare, so would probably also accommodate Cerastus and Dominus class knights although I don't own either so can't verify. The best part about these particular capacities is the have the same width/depth dimensions, so they all stack together.

I purchased a Homak 20" steel toolbox with a steel removable top tray. They went up to $80 on Amazon but I got mine for just over $40 in 2020. That way everything is already magnetized on the box, including the top tray. All you need to do is put magnets on your bases and you're good to go.

Same as derLumpi I have an A-Case.

Some advantages over plastic storage containers is access.
Your models aren't stuck at the bottom of a box, so it's easier to slide them off, or just view them without removing them from the tray, or even the case itself.
Extra trays are also available separately, so you can just store your extra minis outside the case on the trays if that works for you.

Being able to access miniatures easier is particularly useful for large bases with big magnets, or fragile models. Or the most difficult combination, large fragile models.

You can also get XL versions of some of the boxes - the lids are deeper. Some boxes also have the same base dimensions so you can mix and match to create your own XL boxes - I use two to store my paints.

In here I have my Imperial Knight army. Contents include a resin Castigator, three Questoris class Knights (Paladin, Crusader, Gallant) and a pair of Armiger Warglaives. Really Useful boxes do scale up rather nicely.

Damn, this does look good and convenient. Any suggestions for the magnetized rubber sheeting? I don't want to buy the wrong thing

This is a good question.

I had a friend buy a magnet sheet that would stick to the fridge, but none of his models would stick to it.

Like it was a weak magnetisation that could only attach to ferrous metal through a large surface area (the fridge).

And the sheet itself didn't have enough ferrous metal to be attracted by the magnets on the miniatures.

So it wasn't exactly a defective product, it was magnetic rubber strong enough to hold its own weight, but it just didn't work at all for miniature storage.

Homak? Are you in Japan?

Nope, US (Michigan). I just went on Amazon and was looking for an all steel toolbox WITH a steel top tray. Almost all of them I was looking at had plastic top trays. I was in a home depot and all of them in there had plastic trays. I went on Amazon and found the Homak one that has a steel top tray. That way you can stick guys in the top tray, the sides, whatever you want and don't need to add any sheets to the carrying case. Here is the link to the exact one I got:

Are you sure? I thought the idea was the rubber sheet was metallic not magnetic - the magnets in the model’s base do the work and that way you don’t have to worry about polarity?

The ones I use are the same brand as the ones @Noserenda linked but are not magnetic in their own right, just ferrous so magnets stick to them:

FWIW the company that sell them (The Magnet Shop) is also the company behind Warmag which you may have seen being promoted by hobby accounts on social media recently; basically they'll sell you a kit with a Really Useful Box, pre-cut adhesive ferrous sheet that fits the footprint of the box correctly and a selection of magnetic stickers to put on the bases of your minis. Obviously it's cheaper overall to make your own but the convenience might be worth the higher price for some people.

Yeah those are the ones I use (in Halandaar's link in post above), work great. Most important thing is to make sure the magnets on the base of the models are flush with the bottom of the base - if theres a gap, they will end up pulling off on to the sheet

I also tried The magnetic circle sticker things, but didn't like that they made the bases higher.
