Getting back into gaming after a decade away, so not really sure what really works these days.
Thinking of running this as an Anvil Siege Force at 2000pts

Captain in Gravis Armour (Boltstorm Gauntlet, Power Fist, Relic Blade)

Chaplain

Lieutenant (Master Crafter Power Sword)

Heavy Intercessor Squad (10 Marines)

Heavy Intercessor Squad (10 Marines)

Assault Intercessor Squad (10 Marines)

Aggressor Squad (6 Marines)

Eradicator Squad (3 Marines)

Terminator Squad (5 Marines)

Gladiator Valiant
Redemptor Dreadnought

Total comes to 1765pts, which leaves me with 235pts to play around with for task force upgrades and for another unit.

How does this seem? Viable or needs some changes?

What should I add for the remaining points?

Comments and critiques are welcome as always.

I think you are going to have issues killing heavy armor / Monsters.  The Heavy Weapons from the Heavy Intercessors will help, but aren’t reliable.

The more I look at Anvilus the more I want to use Eliminators and Infiltrators.  Think of them as clearing the LZ, Rapid Ingress in Terminators and maybe place Hellblasters somewhere to hit everything.

Well I have 235pts left over to play around with, I could add in the following:
- Apothecary Biologis

- A second squad of Eradicators

- A squad of Eliminators

Unfortunately that would leave me with no points for any of the Enhancements.

I think you would really struggle against high toughness/high wound count units. I don't think you have enough AT in there. Personally I really like gladiator lancers, they are pretty cheap, have re rolls and pack a punch. A few of those plus maybe an executioner. So I would really be looking at maybe taking out/downsizing a few units in the current list to accommodate the above. I don't think that would be an oppressively competitive change either if you are just playing with friends rather than comps etc. I would probably also like to see some delivery mechanisms for some of your units to get them up the board and controlling the mid table area faster.

However, if you are just playing super casual games I think this list would be fine to roll some dice and have some fun especially if you used the leftover points for some AT.

For 140pts can't really go wrong with a Ballistus dread for some ranged AT, or has been said the Gladiator Lancer. Could also go with a regular Land Raider but you're short on points for one so the other options are likely better. Or swap the Redemptor for the Ballistus and then you've got spare points.

So revising the list:

Anvil Siege Force, 1980pts

Captain in Gravis Armour (Indomitable Fury)

Chaplain

Lieutenant (Stoic Defender)

Apothecary Biologis

Heavy Intercessor Squad (5 Marines)

Heavy Intercessor Squad (5 Marines)

Heavy Intercessor Squad (5 Marines)

Assault Intercessor Squad (10 Marines)

Assault Intercessor Squad (10 Marines)

Aggressor Squad (3 Marines)

Terminator Squad (5 Marines)

Eradicator Squad (3 Marines)

Eliminator Squad (3 Marines)

Gladiator Lancer

Redemptor Dreadnought

Repulsor Executioner

Not sure what Aggressors bring to this style of semi-castle play. Being stationary is harder then it sounds when half your choices need to move into melee then others are so short of range they might as well not be there. I also think Hellblasters are one of the best to benefit from Anvil. .

For AT the Ballistus + Lancer give a nice one two punch. You shoot with the Ballistus first then finish the target with the Lancer
