Once again, da Red Gobbo is travelling the worlds of Warhammer nicking presents from all the good* boyz, girlz, and otherwise, like the fine upstanding grot he is. This year, however, disaster has struck – someone has got to the presents first, and there’s nothing left to steal!

Not one to be outdone, he’s putting on his detective cap and sussing out who the mystery ‘Squig Burglar’ is – and he needs your help. Every week you’ll find a new clue to solve that’ll get you one step closer to the culprit, and since the Gobbo is a generous sort, he’ll have prizes to hand out for his luckiest helpers.

n the first two weeks of the competition, 10 sleuths who suss out the correct location will win a bundle of goodies** including a Combat Patrol or Vanguard box of their choice, a Warhammer action figure from our friends at JOYTOY, digital codes for some of the latest Warhammer video games, and more. For the third week, however, we’re doubling the number of winners to 20!

Better still, after the third and final clue, one clever clogs who got all three locations right will earn a VIP trip for two*** to Warhammer World in addition to their prize pack.

XmasComp Nov03 Prizes

If you want to be in with a chance, watch the first video above and see if you can solve the clue – remember there’s a new one every week, and you need all four to be entered for the Big Prize. Where will the Red Gobbo be searching next?

Importantly to participate:

If you want to join the hunt, you’ll first need to be signed up to the Warhammer newsletter, which will send you an alert every Friday with the next sighting of this mysterious burglar – though we’ll be showing off the clue right here on Warhammer Community too. From there, you can head to the competition page and guess where you think they are – don’t worry, it’s multiple choice, so you won’t need to study up on your Warhammer geography to take part.

That'll be where all the WH+ animation budget went

Only available to UK and US folks (excluding Rhode Island). I feel like that should have been mentioned somewhere in the article if they're sending out mails to everyone subscribed.

Edit - T&Cs were pointing to wrong draw when I completed form. However a number of countries are still excluded from the draw.

Totally incorrect... Not sure where you're getting that from but did you read the Ts&C's?...

I've been a victim of the classic stealth update it seems. The terms and conditions when I filled them out pointed to the Newsletter Prize Draw 2023 - Terms & Conditions section which is only available to US and UK. They've since updated it to add a specific MyWarhammer Draw 2023 section ... which I'm still excluded from.

Nope it's up, but link is from the email rather than the Warcom page.

Oh, hmm.. that's annoying, I never really seem to get emails from being signed up, I re-updated my preferences so I guess hopefully I'll get the email next Friday...

Maybe I’m just old and grumpy but does anyone else find the Red Gobbo and Goff Rocker a little tedious? Santa White Dwarf was much more fun.

I honestly thought given 40 years of Warhammer they were gonna do a remake of White dwarf cosplaying in power armour (most likely primaris) as a way of looking back at the old version they did of him. 3 years running it’s been red gobbo

The original Red Gobbo was a reference to Red Robbo who was a trade unionist involved in the Communist party of Britain.

Dont really know anything about the guy, but I'd say he'd hate this.

As I'm old and grumpy I liked the Goff Rocker as it's a call back to the old Goff Rockers of yesteryear. Red Gobbo, I can take or leave.

Genuinely would have preferred an actual Da Red Gobbo figure rather than a Santa version which looks really out of place to even use in a game.

I get that it's become tradition to have a Christmas Miniature, but it really feels like they're wasting the potential of Da Red Gobbo as a character.

I agree entirely. Da Red Gobbo was an amusing character for his revolutionary spirit but turning him into a glorified Christmas gimmick does ruin his character in my opinion. I'm not super invested in Da Red Gobbo but I do think it's a shame. The Goff Rocker animation we got though, I thought was fantastic. No complaints there. If there have to make a Christmas model of an existing character they already have that:

Problem is the repetition.  As a fun one off the Christmas Red Gobbo was good way of resurrecting a character from the archives.  The joke has worn thin however and the thin narrative of the Gobbo has worn out.  There are loads of great models that could be Christmas converted (Father Plague Marine distributing his gifts?)  Which is a shame as I actually like this one the most.  Might get it and sell off the Gobbo bit.

Not sure I need a 3rd Red Gobbo Christmas model and I'm not as keen on this one vs the previous ones.
Given we've had one on foot and one on a squig before, another on foot is a shame. I mean,.. they could have done a Killa Kan version or Maybe a (nicked) deff kopta version!

A few more years of this and there will be enough for a  Gobbo themed kill team.

I may end up with it as a Christmas present from someone. I'll enjoy painting it if I do.
