They are S8 so at least they wound T4 targets on a 2+ but I agree they seem a bit anaemic. Then again, one squad will get 6 hits on average and 5 wounds against MEQs. With AP-1 they will kill 2-3 MEQs from well outside the engagement range of most infantry squads.

 

Against large targets, their ability to slap a -1 to Hit penalty on anything is decent. It allows them to harass vehicles, even if they don't do that much direct damage. At only 85 points, they are very mobile and can reach out and poke targets a long way away.

 

Hmm, I think I may just have talked myself into trying a squad.
