I went a couple different directions for Chosen

For my Iron Warriors I went with Tortuga Bay MK3s with Breacher shields and Axes/Mauls:

And for Red Corsairs I went with Khorne Berzerkers, although I was also considering using Tortuga bay MK4s or their Sons of Horus Reaver armour:

With the right bits and the right paintjob I think you could easily use Legionnaire bodies or Rubric bodies (with a bit of work) if that's what you're going for. The Berzerker kit gives a good amount of bodies that a full tilt running so they worked really well for me:happy:

I've recently picked up a box of Plague Marines that I'm making into some Chosen, mixing and matching bits like shoulder pads to try to avoid any Death Guard symbols, looks quite good and the kit comes with some good one handed bolters / bolters hanging on shoulders etc.

I was reading some Reddit posts today on this very subject. Seems a lot of people use regular CSM and then add bits to them.  So I shall keep my eye on this thread. Seems the raptor kit and the standard CSM kit are a typical mix .

Anyone have the dark vengeance chosen at all? How do they compare to the new kits?

 Show off. Outstanding work.

Mine will be Black Legion, I want them to look like the hardest Veterans the Eye of Terror has to offer.

My first thought was kitbashing Deathwatch torsos and SoH Reaver helmets. But the torsos are slightly too narrow to support Legionnaire arms that need to connect. The helmets looked a little small as well.

The Dark Vengeance Chosen are great models, but they are the same size as the 2nd edition CSM kits. So expect them to be shorter than the current minis.

Hmm... images on my phone are to big to upload the individual photos, so here's the group shot for the time being.

As someone who got started with CSM during 3rd edition, I still subscribe to the idea that every chosen should be a mini-character.

They're slightly but noticeable shorter than the current CSM range.  Some big tactical rocks can help address the height difference, and aside from the size differential the styling is the same so they blend in fairly well.  I'm mixing mine in with my Legionaries.

I don't have individual pictures, but the Emperor's Children ones I did for the ETL a few years back (front and center in the photo) were Legion Kakophani bodies with Black templar upgrade weapons. I liked the idea that they would chain their weapons on so that they weren't lost if the fighter became overwhelmed with the sensations of battle.
