Thanks Brother, I seem to remember Vraks being a source too, your memory is sharper.

I may need to go the printed route, not a fan and would happily pay for plastic.

I will concentrate on a 5k pt Marine force in the first instance whilst I wait and see.

I agree, it would be nice to see a normal army force too, and I'm sure it would be popular as a range - and somehow distinct enough from Auxilia, doing different things much closer to old-school guard.

Even if it was Vostroyan in nature (like the army on the cover of Legion), rather than "cadian" (like the covers of the Siege), it would be nice to see.

But yeah I feel 3d printing is the best boon for LI as a playing experience, and I really hope it helps people wanting different Imperial Army styles, different marine marks, and different races entirely (orks, necrons, eldar, whatever else) play in the game the way they want.

Vostroyan are cool but my uneducated mind thinks pre desert Tallarn would be fantastic in concept.

Hell, even post destruction would be great. Tanks are awesome.

I guess then you get to something a bit more solar auxilia though with the latter (although tallarn sucked in everyone essentially), as the whole world is utterly toxified and non-breathable as a combat world in the heresy. That poor melting man on the cover of the second of these images (the cover of Tallarn: Ironclad) captures that well:

But the pre-dust world is something that escapes the civil war until it is utterly destroyed, it doesn't quite make sense (although lovelingly depicted in the opening scenes of the first Tallarn novella).

Pretty much all the imperial guard tanks were in use by the imperial army somewhere, epic is actually a great scale to show the wider force.

Also, if my opponent wanted to transport SA in appropriately painted rhinos that'd be cool too. The aurox only exists to milk cash off us after all lol

Tallarn is tough to actually do as a setting.

The start of the conflict is them getting virus bombed to such an extent that it makes isstvan look tame. Solar aux in full void gear are speculated to have minutes of exposed surface time; in reality one lasts as little as two steps out of transport. Both power armour and terminator armour noted to be vulnerable to prolonged (the duration of a fight) exposure as well.

Basically it was tank only warfare because they had the strongest hazard sealing.

I defo need to read the Tallarn books now then!

What Legions and Legios were involved if that's ok to ask here?

My boy is loving the artwork including the Malcadors... I may need a reevaluation of my opinion  ..to one which is right

Iron Warriors were the main legion on Tallarn, which would go perfectly with his Legio Krytos, just saying...

Defenders were mostly Imperial Army, with IIRC Fists coming in late (as usual) to save the day (debatable)

Tallarn was primarily Iron Warriors v Imperial army, (Including but not mostly Solar Auxilla) but elements from all sorts on both sides ended up fighting there as its a pivotal conflict at a warp route hub.

I wanted to collect these guys back when my group was big on the HH. Looking at the current costs of the FW stuff, thats a big nope, so I'll be happy to live out that hobby dream with LI.

I'm thinking Macharius chassis won't ever appear due to timeline stuff, but they're cool too.

They've outright ignored that in the daemon engine PDFs, but if they wanted to include it without screwing the lore up it's possible; The tank named after Macharius could simply be based on a rediscovered STC that was lost during the Heresy or the Scouring. They could make a very similar vehicle with a different name (maybe change the armament) and it would work fine.

Yeah there are definite hints in the Macharius fluff that it had previously seen Imperial service, which has lead to a whole bunch of people parallel developing it as the Lupercal tank :D

Let's hope that with the rebranding of FW to HH they can focus and create/manufacture all the toys for this game, be great to see Macharius vehicles in LI too.

Also, my damned son has been perusing the 28mm SA stuff online and the new WarCom painted preview pics, he really likes SA painted up in the desert scheme by one of the artists.

So He has chosen, death.
