I have started to hear a lot of stuff about Blood Angel models but at this moment I really don't want to go fully into it, I just want to gather some more whispers.

id love to see a BA specific gravis unit. A gravis blade guard type unit would be cool.

options, replace sword and pistol for a bolt/flame storm gauntlet

replace bolt pistol with hand flamer

 

Space Wolves have an index worth of characters. We have lost a few as well.

For 10th edition, I'd be over the moon with Sanguinary Guard, Corbulo and a new Sanguinary Priest (with Jump Pack please!). Oh and let us pain Jump Assault Intercessors Black. That would go a long way for us feeling "Complete". We won't get the upgrade sprue treatment before the Wolves I don't think. Clearly Russ is the next loyalist and then they'll get all their love.

I feel you’re wrong on the upgrade sprue, I think it’s unlikely we will see an update and not get the upgrade at that point

Sounds quite limited update for a faction that haven't seen an update in 10+ years. I mean, look at furiosos, baals, old DC and SangGuard, some of our characters are either death, in DC or pissed about the primaris (seth). We lose flavor and options with new jump Assault and less wargear in Vanguards. Melee got worse and we need updated rules to increase mobility and damage output.

Your take feels unfair. The last 6 years have been spent in the Primaris issue, so if we ignore some of that time period (And we should, as it's been GW trying to slow roll replace the entire SM line, therefore they were always gonna focus on generic SM), it's only been a few years since the BA tacticals and Assault Terminators.

 

I'm not gonna argue about wargear (I'm in favor of less options, for myriad reasons), but we haven't been unfairly hurt by anything that any other Space Marine faction has been. BT are probably in the best spot as far as modernity goes but that makes sense, they got the refresh we are all hoping for. And I don't think it's a bad hope to have; DA are going that way as well, admittedly over a much longer period (I'm tossing The Lion into the DA refresh, even tho they are gonna be almost a year apart).

 

Seems like GW does care about the less codex compliant chapters. There's just only so much time and manpower and plastic printers.

Yeah fair points, but since  primaris phase finished, it feels like a good time to get the BT and DA treatment. If not, it's going to be 3+ years again.

but, for us the BT treatment will probably be an upgrade, replacement sanguinary guard, maybe a DC kit, or perhaps a new unit, and a few characters (astorath, sanguinor, corbulo/priest, maybe Seth)

 

Likely we will lose some things too, precisely what remains to be seen. I don’t remotely believe we will get an update to the Baal or our dreadnoughts

Given that the DA refresh on the whole is almost tit for tat what we got, this is a pretty safe bet.

 

They pretty much gave everyone "baal predators" with one of the lancers. I could see perhaps unique dreadnought claws on your upgrade sprue in the same vein ours contain a sponson multimelta, but the brutalist already has claws option... Could even be something like sang priest upgrades?

As an original Blood Angels player who saw the writing on the wall regarding old marines and primaris marine’s I’ve been biding my time waiting for a refresh. 

 

I’ve always thought BA was one of the most popular armies, along with Space Wolves. Although I have nothing to back up those claims officially, the BA/SW forums on BACS have far more posts than BT and DA (combined actually).

 

So I was surprised with the full BT refresh. Not so much DA as they needed the refresh to go along with the Lion. Good for those armies btw.

 

That being the case I expect a huge refresh for BA including Sanguinary Guard, DC Jump Pack (likely an add on sprue), and more characters.

 

I hope the Sanguinator becomes the full embodiment of Sanguinius and gets a huge centerpiece model.

 

Those are my hopes.

It'd be interesting to see why there's a post disparity. In the real world, BA/DA/SW all seem fairly popular all around.

 

They'll never do it, but I'd be pretty happy if they had a clean shoulderpad for these kits, for BA successors to easily put decals on.
