Hi everyone,

This year 2023 I completed my first allied detachement for my main 40k army (Blood Angels) : 25 Grey Knights.

So I'm taking this opportunity to open a topic here to show you the result and perhaps when they are finished, photos of the other planned allied detachement (Death Watch, Ad Mech and Imperial Knight).

Summary

Grey Knight

Brother Captain

Librarian

Terminator Squad

Strike Squad

Paladin Squad

Purgator Squad

First 5 purgator.

They were my test miniatures for Grey Kinght in power armor. I don't have much to say about them. I should take a picture of the Shulder pads, I'm really happy with how they look like.

My Strike Squad.

I had to trick to vary the pauses of the guys with the halberd, because there are only 3 pairs of different arms in the box.
Also complicated to find different coats of arms for all the right epaulettes. I'll try to take a photo of them another time.

Terminator Squad.

I finished it last weekend and I really love how this kit turned out. I find the possible poses really nice. Originally they weren't supposed to be there, but after playing Chaos Gate, I couldn't resist to add some to my little allied detachment.

They look great - the dings and scrapes on the armour is very nicely done, and really adds to the model. The blend on the power sword is great, and the dusting on their feet ties them into the base nicely

Paladins now.

I think these are the first ones I painted. The squad is no longer playable in threes in the 10th edition and that's a shame. It encouraged us to create characters with the last 2 terminators in the box. We'll talk about it later.

Penultimate figure of the detachment, the librarian.

No conversion here, just a judicious choice of elements from the terminator kit: a halberd with seals, the loincloth, the torso with the psychic hood, a bare head and we have a very satisfactory result.

I added a small psychic power effect in the hand and at eye level when painting to clearly indicate that it is a psyker

Last figurine of my allied detachment, a Brother Captain.

The iron halo is the specter the reworked from terminator kit and the cape is from the Death wing terminator kit

Very nice - I do think the inside of the cape could use a bit of colour though (maybe some red striping near the edge, for example) - I feel you are missing a great opportunity to add some colour to a model that doesn't have many places for it, especially when the cape is so similar in tone to the base and the dust on the legs.

Your other models get that bit of contrast from their blue power weapons and really benefit from it (they all look great), and I feel this model could really gain from something similar, even if in a different colour.

Do really like the iron halo - it really suits the mini.
