Hey, everyone. I have been magnetizing my bases for transport. I mostly use Warmag's adhesive base sized magnets. I need to magnetize some Lokhust Destroyers, which are on 60mm clear flying bases. I only have Warmag magnets up to 50mm. It costs too much to ship them here just to order more just for this. I also would rather not just use neodymium magnets since they would make the bases less stable.

Has anyone magnetized these bases? The bases are decorated already to match my army and they're glued into the models so I don't want to just get new bases if I can avoid it, but I'm not sure I can. If I need to, I'll cut them off the flight stands and move them to regular 60mm bases with the flight stand drilled into the middle so I can just put magnets on the bottom as normal. But I wanted to see if anyone has any better ideas before I do.

I'm afraid my solution is similar to @andes in that I replace the clear bases completely with black ones with a hole drilled in the top for the stem. Allows you to magnetise them the same as your other models.

Sorry, I'm not trying to magnetize the stand to the model. I'm trying to magnetize the stand/base itself so it will stick to my magnetic trays for transport. Sorry for miscommunication!

I may have to switch to a regular base.  That or find something else to stick on the bottom that is flush with neodymium magnets, so the bases stay stable.

Yeah I mean Warmag is just a brand name of a generalist magnetics company (The Magnet Shop) who sell the rubberised magnets by the sheet. @Tyriks getting hold of some of that and cutting to size yourself is probably the best way to match your existing stuff without having to rebase. Obviously ordering from that company has the same issues as from Warmag when it comes to shipping, but you might be able to get the unbranded rubber-magnet sheets from a.seller closer to you.

Yes, I forgot but I have had some of the magnetic sheeting I got locally. For some reason none of it seems to have the same attraction strength. But it might be enough, I'll dig some of that out and give it a shot.
