Well that is pretty low effort. They added Company Heroes and Jump Intercessors but I can't see anything else. Still feels wrong that Mephy can't lead Bladeguard Vets but can lead Sternguard.

And the Jump Sanguinary Priest cannot join Sanguinary Guard either which is pretty disappointing.

However ... Corbulo giving +1A FNP to Assault Intercessors ... 6A each with SoS S5 and FNP. Not bad.

This and the Mephiston/ BGV change won’t happen until we get a new book the earliest though. If at all…

the DA supplement is going to show us what route GW wants to go down, I’m very interested in seeing the detachments in that. And will they be DA exclusive? What times to be alive!

My sincere hope hes gonna and replaced by something new in our codex supplement.

They should have taken the fantastic lore oportunity of the fall of cadia/devastation of baal to clear the board of some of our named characters and introduce new ones.

 

But gw has a deathgrip on pretty much never having anyone die. For marines especially its become comical how far the lore survival rate/lifespan of marines is vs the named characters.

It is like Star Trek, hundreds of redshirts may die but the bridge crew are almost invulnerable.

Well, Tycho is dead. He can absolutely be dropped when our codex comes out - and I'd be okay with that honestly, even though he was for a long time my favourite BA character (I've owned and painted the official model a few times and done a numbe of my own versions of the model too).

 

I'm also of the opinion Lemartes getting offed wouldn't be the end of the world, I like the character well enough but after he fell to the black rage to the extent he has to be kept in stasis he stopped being interesting to me.

 

I'd personally hope for:

Dante (safe as new model is new)

Mephiston (safe as new model is new)

Sanguinor (as others say, a more center piece like model with big wings would be cool)

Astorath (with a nice new model and IMO a rule that lets him be used with any blood angel successor (i.e. you can use him and seth in the same army) due to his lore)

Corbulo (cross the rubicon, new model as a dual kit for regular priest)

New captain (Either Aphael, Karlean or Antargo imo)

It's so low effort that they didn't even remove the options that no longer exist...

Pretty sure that’s because those units exist in legends…removing them would make the entire thing unusable even there.

I think it's safe to say that the wont allow Mephiston to join Bladeguard because they don't want them to gain Strike First.

But they can gain Strike First if led by a Judiciar.
