There's already one for Space Marines, but everyone knows the Imperial Guard is also really cool, so they deserve one too.

They are the real heroes of the Imperium, they outnumber marines at rates of many thousands to one, and despite not having any genetically enhanced abilities, they still lay their lives on the line, if only to preserve the chance to live a hellish and miserable life for themselves and those they love.

Anyway, this thread is for any concepts or ideas you want to put out into the world as far as unique IG regiments, like lore, colors and iconography, and of course any notable equipment or practices in combat.

It's like baseline, a springboard, people can put out ideas here, and when one sticks, they can think on it more and make something bigger out of it.

I'll post some of my own ideas below to get a general sort of ball rolling.

Homebrew Regiment 001 - The Kalystyx Gloryseekers

Hailing from the large and generally nice (for a) Hive World of Kalystyx, these guardsmen are notable for being completely voluntary. They willingly join a regiment. Their planet is in a relatively safe part of the Imperium, they have jobs, food, industry, culture. And yet, some people, even one in a thousand, will be left unsatisfied -- What is it they lack? It's Violence. They leave their peaceful lives to fulfill their urge to kill, to be violent, for action, for something more.

They are in large part composed of society's failures who despite anyone's efforts are deeply mentally troubled. Although there are always a few that believe in serving their planet honorably. They don't get along together.

Understandably, the rest of the planet of Kalystyx loathes them. They don't bring honor to their world, no, they are literally just a horde of mentally deranged maniacs given basic training and a lasgun. But they also don't get rid of them. Because their service does bring imperial funding. And so Kalystyx keeps the Gloryseekers around, and every year, more people sign up for traning.

Other guard regiments don't like them at all. They aren't fighting for very much besides themselves and their own predilections, and therefore are really offputting towards other regiments whose guardsmen see war as a sacrifice or a duty, which is the vast majority of all regiments.

They are trained to the same degree that any other regiment is. But their training goes in a different direction than most. What they learn is how to weaponize their erratic behaviour in a way that allows them to actually catch their enemy off-guard, rather than just turn them into easy targets.

Because of their planet's funding, they get some really nice weapons and armor off the bat, regardless of if they actually deserve it, because lord knows they don't.

Colors: Dark Green Uniform, Black Armor, Red Lenses

Homebrew Regiment 002 - The Centauran Purebloods

Descended directly from the original settlers of the Alpha Centauri system in M5.

These Psychotic Mayflower Descendants are unnaturally xenophobic for the Imperium. But that almost makes sense given that they survived the Age of Strife, and the Unification Wars.

They consider themselves some of the the only 'pure' humans left in the Galaxy, considering themselves genetically equal to Terrans, which isn't even Heresy because literally nobody else is obsessed enough on genetics to make that a good or bad thing in the wider Imperium. Their hatred of genetically dissimilar humans makes the Red Scorpions take a step back around them.

While technically speaking, their bloodline traces back to Holy Terra directly, given that their planet was terraformed in the DAoT to have identical living conditions. And hell, the comparable lack of pollution means they might have more intact pre-DAoT genetics than most Terrans. But it doesn't actually make them any better than any other regiment, despite what they believe.

They have gone through their own rises and falls since, but they did manage to keep enough of their original technology to stand out amongst other Regiments.

As an actual Regiment they do alright, but nobody else likes them; They only rarely tolerate other regiments, and they never field any abhumans.

Note: If you really wanted to play this legion, you would be willingly handicapping yourself by willingly refusing to take Psykers, Ogryns, Ratlings, etc...

Colors: White, Titanium White, White Gold. If they look like some sort of cult, good, that's the point..

Lasgun: Kalibrax V-I (Technically a Lasrifle. There are stats for lasrifles in HH. Just say +5 points to equip or something.)

From the perspective of regiment symbol (or other typs of markings) and what to use have GW rereleased some of their "old" Adeptus Titanicus transfer sheets:

Adeptus Titanicus: Legio Solaria Transfer Sheet (warhammer.com)

Adeptus Titanicus: Legio Vulpa Transfer Sheet (warhammer.com)

Adeptus Titanicus: Legio Atarus Transfer Sheet (warhammer.com)

Adeptus Titanicus: Legio Astorum Transfer Sheet (warhammer.com)

Adeptus Titanicus: Legio Metalica Transfer Sheet (warhammer.com)

Using them would mark out your forces from others, it is also the possebility of mixing sheets to creat something that's more unique.
