Halandaar
Hi all, In my search for some inspiration on how I want to tackle a new project, I stumbled across this set of kitbashed zombie/cultists on Reddit, and the colour scheme used for the flesh is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I tried contacting the person who posted the thread directly but didn't hear back (it's quite old so they may not even be active on Reddit any more), so i'm hoping you can help me sus out how this scheme was achieved and what colours might have been used to do it. Ideally I'm looking for closest possible Citadel colours (because i probably already have them somewhere), but if there's a consensus that a specific colour from a different range is a key part of it then I'm not opposed to picking it up. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated! Valkyrion
I'd start with white scar, aethermatic blue all over, talassar blue in the eyes and mouth, drybrush (or edge) back up to white scar. Pylar Glacier is another good starting point, but unless I've got a bad bottle of it I've found it more like a glaze than a paint - it's very thin, great for blue-tinting metals - but you could maybe have some joy with that as a starting point instead of aethermatic blue. tinpact, Halandaar and TrawlingCleaner 1 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/381937-help-me-recreate-this-frosty-looking-flesh-scheme/#findComment-6010124 Share on other sites

Yeah Pylar Glacier is a funny one, I've used it before and it functioned pretty much like Apothecary White; essentially a very mild blue recess shade for white surfaces. I hadn't even considered it because I didn't think of it as being blue enough but it might be just the thing for the high contrast areas. Deus_Ex_Machina
That´s funny. I was wondering about painting cold skin too but for a Fantasy R&F game. My first attempt with a metal practice mini (I would advice to do several before committing to paint a whole squad/army) would be: 1. White Basecoat 2. Blue/Grey (drybrush) 3. White (drybrush) 4. Light Blue (drybrush) 5. Blue Ink (wash) 6. White (accentuation) The already mentioned Aethermatic Blue might be a better pick as it isn´t so dark as a regular Blue Ink.
