Dwango
I am starting the mammoth task of creating a ZM board. This will have a duel purpose with Munda too. I've managed to get a load of GW terrain but I'm not sure it'll be enough. For those that are playing it regularly, how much terrain is needed for a standard board? I'm looking for a rough figure for columns, walls & doors. I do have containers and various other generators type terrain to add into it too. Ta. OttoVonAwesome
A good ZM board is gonna cost a couple grand easy unless you turn to 3d printing cuase the official gw stuff is just super pricey and you don't get much per box. It's one thing where I don't think the switch to plastic made it cheaper at all especially if you want multi dimensional necromunda terrain. 4x4 is the goal but 3x3 will do fine still gonna cost alot. Don't feel like you need walls and stuff on every tile though open sections with barricades are just fine. Petitioner's City
This set by Ttcombat is a wonderfully affordable alternative: Here's a very fine painted version, mixed with FW terrain: And an article on TT Community about it. Of course, ZM can also be tunnel fighting underground - and you could model up with spray form or hard foam a good tunnel system! MARK0SIAN
I would also second the TT Combat set. When you consider the price compared to plastic sets it’s phenomenal. The set is also pretty easy to build, although I replaced some of the pipe work on some of the sections with plastic tubing and dowel because the cardboard bits are a bit flimsy. One set is easily enough for a smallish game or some necromunda. If you wanted a larger game you’d probably need two sets or some additional pieces/more open spaces. Here’s a link to my set in the album. It’s not as well painted as the one above but it gives you a good idea of what you get: In the picture of the game it’s combined with the white and silver pieces from another kit to make a larger board. Dwango
Thanks all. I'm looking at a 4x4 set up. I own 9 tiles currently, will likely get 4 more. I've kind of dismissed wood sets but I'm not overly sure why. The ones presented look really good. They seem to stack up to the GW ones too so getting some will add diversity. Funnily enough I've noticed Wargame Tournaments have a 50% sale on, link below to the ZM set. Seems to be cheaper that TTcombat but less detail. P&P would up the cost a fair bit mind. Have you guys seen these before and know if they match the dimensions of GW's terrain? https://www.wargamestournaments.com/product/industrial-battle-zone-fast-walls-terrain-set/ @Petitioner's City that is a good shout for tunnel fighting. I am going to look into that more. It's set some ideas off!
