Hey all,

I've been wanting an excuse to do some kitbashing and converting recently and decided to start doing traitor guard. I'm using The Blooded kill team parts with new Cadian plastic kits and I've sort of settled on a scheme but I'm having some trouble feeling like the scheme is good or complete.

I was going for a scheme inspired by the old Eye Of Terror campaign book's Traitor Guard Scheme since the Blooded's helmets seem similar:

I didn't go for full black cloth because I'm not super confident on being able to highlight it all super well but it might be something I try. If you have any suggestions or feedback let me know. Here are some of my test models:

If looks really good. If you were worried about doing the black, you could consider doing the base coat of pure black but then do a layer of corvus black with some dark Grey edge highlight or drybrushing +/- nuln oil

They look good

One of the problems in painting black surfaces is that if you actually paint them black, then that leaves you nowhere to go for the shadows. If you use a very dark grey (e.g. Vallejo Charcoal or GW Eshin Grey, I think), then you can give them a black wash to fill in the shadows.

I would keep the metals and skin tones more consistent. have you decided on basing?

I agree with the skintones and metals. On the test models I was trying a few different combos and the more pallid skin tone didn't pan out like I thought it might.

I am planning on doing the bases like the one single tube grenade launcher guy, which is army painter brown battleground with some spots of green flock to break it up.
