I won a local league

So it was a 15 people league, today we finished the semi/final and manage to win both games.

 

Mi list:

 

Vanguard Spearhead

- Sanguinor

- Chapi Jump

- Apothecary Biologis

- Captain powerfist

 

- Company Heroes

- 2 5x scouts

- 1 3x Eradicators

- 2 3x Devastator Centurions Las/Missiles

- 1 5x Vanguards

- Liby Dread

- 2 3x Plasma Inceptors

- 1 10x DC PF/IF Infiltrating

 

1 Game against Necrons (a bunch of deep strike and redeploy stuff )

- Night bringer ctan

- Lych Guard

- Several Destroyers of different flavors, Immortals, Deathmarks, Warriors

 

I manage to cover most of the table early with scouts, DC.

 

DC (infiltration) and Aggressors (teleported) were gold turn one, killing several mobility units early.

I rapid ingressed the Sanguinor in the opponent deployment to harass the objective and it worked wonders

Event though there was a bunch of terrain the Centurions and Eradicators (reserves) managed to kill both the ctan and monolit. Plasma Inceptor reroll against the monolith did an awesome job.

Scouts were ignored in both games and were my MVP scoring a bunch of objectives and even blocking important stuff.

Having Necrons stuck in CC with boring stuff is great.

Vanguard  vets were meh in both games :(

Company Heroes did nothing besides camping my main objective, but it was good because people was scared of getting close of Dread and this unit. Not sure why.

 

Against Votann, it was a super close game. I won because I scored early and consistently even though I lose a bunch of units by turn 3 to 1 hekaton, 4x sagitaurs and 2x hearthguard (this unit is insane, too much antimech shooting and incredible melee).

 

Pioneers didn't did much though.

 

On my side DC killed a Hearthguard unit.

Eradicators and Centurions killed the hekaton and I missplayed the aggressors trying to kill the hekaton in cover (cover is bad for aggressors) and got killed turn 1.

Vanguard again, easy pick for sagitaurs.

I notice Votan is super strongwith first 4 unit with judgement tokens but once killed their shooting goes down big with Vanguard and start fading.

I played centurion too close to the center and got scared by sagitaurs and hearthguard.

Scouts again, ignored and did awesome job with primary or secundary.

Sanguinor didn't do much so I guess rapid ingress is key again. I din;t got charged so I didn't used his hability.

In this game I went out of CP super fast and it hurt me a lot I could have done much with CP.

Liby did Libby job and Company Heroes as well, teleporting and getting a key objetive.

 

Overall I'm super happy, the list and detachment super fun with good options but I think placement and not overextend is key.

I was expecting more from -1 to hit and save against Votann and with Judgement tokens and Hekaton ignoring cover I was surprised. But the Votann player got too focused on killing stuff that he forgot about objectives and secondaries on my benefit :)

Also It feels like going second on Vanguard worked better for me

centurions killed a monolith, ctan, hekaton and some infantry so yes I really like them I just exposed them too much in the center with Votann. Also I think Vanguard is great for their survability and redeployment along with Liby. Eradicators are killy but they need to get closer and die faster. I have played other detachments and it feels Vanguard give the tools to solve mistakes and radically switch your presence on the board.

Thanks for the battle report, i've been running Las Missile/Grav cents and find them very very good.  Congratulations on your win, thats not a standard list either more kudos to you.  I reckon our libby dread is gold in 10th, that or a land raider redeemer.
