@Magos Takatus I first started collecting Kroot in 2007ish with the old Carnivore box, but I didn't really expand until Blackstone Fortress had Dayhak Grekh and then the Kill Team. Right not I have two flesh shapers (one converted to a melee Warshaper) and a Lone Spear to do, then I want the new Kroot Hounds and another box of the Farstalkers. The Farstalkers are a super fun kit, if you liked painting the new Carnivores I think the Farstalkers are a great step up. Fun weapon options, so great heads, etc. They also have a fair bit of bits you might want if you plan to expand

Good point! I forgot about the Farstalkers. My friend brought some to my last game and they looked pretty nice. They also did some interesting things to my Stormboyz so if I ever get enough Kroot to make a tabletop army they might offer some variety. I probably need more Krootox if I'm thinking from that point of view. I never really intended to take them to the tabletop, but her, it's a future option. It's a shame there's no option for Knarloc Riders and Greater Knarloc any more. I don't think the models have aged terribly well but I used to adore them. I can't really complain about GW's efforts with Kroot though, they certainly put a lot of effort into the new range, more so than the World Eaters release in my opinion.

As a Chaos fan, I feel this. In general, I think Xenos fans have been eating way better then most Chaos fans. Necrons and Tyranid refresh was great, Craftwold have finally exited fine cast hell, T'au basically have a entire sub army now. Even Votann, who had a limited release, are still kind of "complete" IMO.

Now that I think about it, Kroot have 5 units and 3 characters. It's not a TON of variety but for a sub army it is kind of impressive. I would of loved Knarlocs too, but I can't complain tooich

The Knarloc Rider Kit hasn't aged terribly well up close, but they still look fine from a distance, and the Great Knarlocs still look great and are ripe for conversion fun. They're a little points intensive as usual with Legends models, however Kroot are so strong right now that I don't feel held back at all in casual games by brining them. (I actually think it helps make the army a little more casual because with our limited model count it's hard not to bring a really strong list with just since almost all our units are good-great right now)

Technically we have 4 Characters (Lone Spear, War, Trail, and Flesh Shapers) That being said, it's 3 kits, or 3 playable ones in competitive since the Trail Shaper is pretty bad right now.

As someone who does play Kroot competitively, yeah we are a full sub army. There's basically only two lists to play because our range is so limited, but we do exist. The design of it is really great too, feels both strong and thematic, whomever designed it really knew what they were doing and I hope we get the same love moving forward, even if it's ages until our next model release.
