Assault terminators with shields - that’s 4 wounds per model, 2+ save and 4++ save. That’s a lot of wounds to tear through. So no, not super killy vs armor but quite resilient and some chapters they can have 5+++ FNP. Play to their strengths.

I'm not convinced they need to get stronger exactly..  I think they need to take a look at all "heavy" melee weapons Hammers, Fists, etc giving them a double profile for infantry and monsters/vehicles but that's not Terminator specific.  The value of the Terminators go up when the cost goes down.  Part of me suspects Terminators are more valuable than BGV, but most of me things that is just nostalgia.

Termies are T5, 2+/4++, have punchy melee Fists, can shoot and they can deepstrike.

BGV are 3+/4++, lots of attacks and are a bit faster.

IMHO they fill different roles.

And we have to keep in mind that the 40k player base isn't only tournament players: termies are good in casual games (even versus good lists). In my last game against an Aeldari, he had to commit mearly 700pts of units to wipe my termies out (and I failed 12/14 of my 4++ saves ).

They are durable, can teleport on tactical aeras of the battlefield and they can pack a punch (for only 185 pts).

I think we are too often seeing the game via the social network meta perspective (ruling out some units without even playing them, just because X youtubers said so): perhaps they are bad for the LVO/LGT/WTC 20 best players, but in regular gaming group they're doing just fine.

That's just my opinion (and I mostly play my termies in Firestorm detachement because I like the mobility that "assault" provides).

Besides points and efficiency: they're just so cool ^^
