Lord Marshal
Kroot Carnivore Quote This glorious pair will be available for the first time at AdeptiCon, which runs between the 20th and 24th of March in Schaumberg, Illinois in the USA, but they will be present at other major Warhammer events throughout the year and around the world. Boytoy
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but a basic carnivore? A shaper or other hq would have been nicer. CL_Mission
The Kroot could have been a bit more special. An alternative war shaper model would have been the way to go I think so long is didn't carry a unique load out, something fancy you could swap in for the regular guy if you were lucky to pick it up. The Steel Rook looks great though! MoriyaSchism
The Warhammer 40K event models and Limited Edition models in general have been really disappointing for the last couple of years. The Warhammer Day one was pretty rough too. Nothing they do really draws on the artwork or Warhammer 40K history. Apart from the Inquisitor model they released a while back I can't really remember anything that really grabbed me like the Imperial Space Marine they released in 2016. ZeroWolf
On the contrary to others, I really like both...not enough to go out of the way to get them mind. Funny thought though, both Event and store anniversary model are Tau (or ally of). Valkyrion
First impressions are of a 1980's hair metallist about to do a guitar flip. If I pick this up I'm gonna call him Yngwie. VanDutch
Love the Kroot pose, even if the model is a bit simple(?). I’ve seen a few AoS models with crows in them recently, and the deluded part of my brain says they’re all just practice for a Corax model. Burni
It’s definitely becoming obvious that these celebration minis are based off work done for a recent mainline release but wasn’t used. Halandaar
This Kroot could very easily have been the in-store mini of the month freebie giveaway model as opposed to a premium collectors item, but given that people complain about these things being locked behind in-person events every single time there's something to be said for it just being a basic trooper as opposed to something genuinely useful or unique, as that makes it "easier" for people to miss it and not care. Aarik
I really like both of them actually. I can understand people's complaints about the Kroot being a basic trooper, but the model itself looks nice. The Praetorian of Inwit
The Knight looks cool. The Kroot just looks wring to me. The pose is off. It feels twisted. Marshal Reinhard
As much as I know this particular breed of xeno garners excitement from the heretic masses, I feel like AoS won this one. Hfran Morkai
I think it's a decent model but I'm not sure it should be the Event Miniature. If it was crouched on top of a branch (I know, tactical rock syndrome) where it looked like it was up in the trees about to ambush some Eldar Rangers (First T'au Codex short story if I'm not mistaken?) I'd be all over it. skylerboodie and Noserenda 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382212-2024-warhammer-events-miniatures-kroot-carnivore/#findComment-6020052 Share on other sites
ThePenitentOne
The article seemed to imply that we'd eventually be able to get these models without attending an event- is that true, or just Warcom's loose writing? Also, are there even any official events where these will be available in Canada? At the bottom, it just mentions that there will be other events going on that you'll be able to purchase them at. I don't know much about any of the events though, let alone Canada. I do know for certain there won't be any in my state in the US :). At closest, there might be one in Georgia or North Carolina. A number of special event minis did go up for MTO so it is possible these models may get released in the same way later, however I doubt the Community team would know about that at this stage. Opprobrium
I doubt they'd even bother to MTO a single Kroot Carnivore anyway, looks like a leftover from the Kill Team Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382212-2024-warhammer-events-miniatures-kroot-carnivore/#findComment-6020201 Share on other sites
Halandaar
Although didn't they say a little while ago that events would now be the first place to get these models, rather than the only way as was the case previously? I certainly seem to remember something like that, and the fact they did the Primaris Company Champion as a Made to Order last year seems to support it. MithrilForge
I'll wait till the above opinion becomes true and get it from MTO or if he does not sell well then hopefully GW just pops him up on the website as a special release, Australia does not have many "events" and if they do it generally would be half way across the country...he aint worth the trip ....
