Craig
Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent hobby knife? I have bought a few in the past that have just been a waste of money so I thought I'd ask here before I bought another one. Preferably something available on Amazon as I have vouchers to use. Grotsmasha
Search "Hobby Tools" on Amazon, and you'll get a result like THIS, all for VERY cheap Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382344-hobby-knife-recommendations/#findComment-6023432 Share on other sites
Lord_Ikka
I've got several knives- never really had any that were great or standout, as long as I kept some fresh blades around that is what has helped. Firedrake Cordova
I use a Swann-Morton surgical scalpel. I have 2 - one with a sharp blade, and one with a really blunt blade that I use as a thin mould line scraper (I also have GW's mould line remover that I use for larger sections) Obviously, surgical scalpels are designed for cutting you, so care is strongly advised. Mendi Warrior
I use a Stanley cutter with 9mm blade for most of my cutting, mouldlines removal, ... Sometimes one with a larger blade when cutting terrain, larger pieces, thick styrofoam, ... Link to show the model in question: https://www.bruneau.be/fr/product/stanley-cutter-lame-9-mm/604543 Unsure about availability on Amazon. Only drawback, since it is made of plastic, is that you might break it at some point. I already repaired mine a few times over the years I have used it. This just to say how much I am accustomed to it and appreciate it. The blade can be sharpened if need be. andes
I like the rubber coated X-acto brand knife, like this. Having a large supply of replacement blades makes life easier, too -- I change the blade at the start of each new project. Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf
For me, The Army Painter's one is just perfect. Excellent design, very ergonomic, safe, really good price, easy to find, light weight, with 6 sharp blades (one attached and 5 extra. You can use the extras as replacement or in another handle)... I have one since a year ago, I use it a lot and still with the first blade. https://thearmypainter.com/products/hobby-knife Edited February 20 by Agramar_The_Luna_Wolf Harrowmaster and Firedrake Cordova 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/382344-hobby-knife-recommendations/#findComment-6023487 Share on other sites
