So I’m very new to Tyranids, and based on what I got in the Leviathan box and managed to pick up after, this is I think the list that looks most fun to me. I don’t know how competitive it will be, and frankly that’s not a big concern of mine at this point. Mostly I want to have fun and a regenerating carpet of horrible bugs teamed with some big monsters seems fun to me.

the idea here is the SKs and hormagaunts go for immediate pressure, the Emissary seizes the midboard, the Rippers score, and the Leaders guard the backfield. Tervi and the Gaunts go to tie up as many enemy units as they can, and the Fex helps to guard the other big bugs should something get into range/LOS with them.

thinking about dropping a Leapers unit for some deep-striking Gargoyles.

Thoughts & feedback welcome!

If you can focus on scoring then it should be fun and do well but time management will be your foe. Id maby suggest a biovorefor sporemine scoring /slowing foes down... allow you to pick fights and control the board slightly too. A regular tyrant will likely do more than swarmlord whos just sadly over costed

Swarmlord is appealing mainly for the free CP, and because I think the model is cool. Kicking him out would free up some points--maybe a flyrant or venomthropes could slot in there, or another tervigon. Thanks!

Thats the rght attitude!

The endless swam looks like a lot of fun, maybe my second favourite detachment, but the only downside is if you are playing competitively on a timer, where you add undue stress to yourself.

The list looks fun, I feel the weaknesses are the emissary, who has low daamge output for a near 300pt model, the leapers and +/- swarmy.

If you know you'll have loads of gaunts on objectives, maybe go assimilator with rerolls and be aggressive with it and the screamers? I'd drop one unit of leapers to get 10 gargoyles, they're just so useful and annoying, or even get 20 of them.

Consider spinefists on the gaunts as they will be in melee quickly, and more shots with twn linked might be critical when going into vehicle heavy armies.
