Per Valrak; allegations that Games Workshop and Blur are working together again. Notable cinematic projects they've worked on (and that people would actually know) include;

  • Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War
  • Halo Wars
  • Prototype
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Batman: Arkham Origins
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Halo 2 Anniversary
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron movie
  • Sonic the Hedgehog movie trilogy
  • Love, Death & Robots

Honestly, maybe I'm in the minority but I have always been of the opinion that the only way you can make justice to 40K is with animation.

Something like Love, death ane robots or Star Wars Visions where a bunch of small and big animation studios get a chance to tell a small story set in the 40K universe with different art styles would be rad.

Or a Clone Wars style series about the Heresy, which would IMO be the only realistic way of actually adapting the Heresy.

Who is it that is working on the Space Marine 2 cinematics? I just thought I'd rule out the obvious before we all get too excited. I'd be inclined to think it's a game cinematic before being an animated series but I really hope that it's a bigger project. :)

Capsule Studio

Rather than one big project, many little ones.

Everyone likes quality, myself included, but I'd say quantity is a bigger problem for WH+ right now.

Edit: Also, if they make just one thing, it's guaranteed to be Marine Centric. If they make 5 things, at least one of them will be about something other than the most ubiquitous of the IP. Sorry guys, because I know there are a lot of fans here, but damn, Space Marines bore me.

It appears to be a crossover event for Call of Duty Modern Warfare III.

3x skin packs: Sororitas, Kasrkin, Space Marine Scout.

Also a Juggermosh event in full Space Marine armour with abilities etc.

If you purchase this, you also get to keep the power armour skins I believe.

Glad they included Sororitas, but if it's just a skin then it isn't really effective.

SoB aren't SoB without acts of Faith.

Sisters of Battle were Sisters of Battle in 2nd and early 3rd without Acts of Faith - it's just a mechanic :)

Isn't this what Hammer and Bolter was?

If they're nothing without the suit Acts of Faith, then they shouldn't have them.

But nevertheless, a series where studios "tell a small story set in the 40K universe with different art styles".

LD&R is amazing, and continuing to tell stories in that fashion would be rgeat for 40k worldbuilding. I'd always said GW should have got their stuff on netflix instead of their own platform...

Been a long time since I read my 2nd ed Sororitas dex, and I didn't actually play Sisters until 3rd, so I have no lived experience of playing sisters in 2nd. I've been meaning to read that dex again, because I'm thinking of Kitbashing up some of those long lost characters (ie. Praxedes, Jacobus, Kyrinov) and replicating them using Crusade upgrades.

As for 3rd, I forget whether they did indexes or not, because I didn't start playing 3rd until the Witch Hunter dex dropped- but from that point forward, AoF were in effect.

But I'm more talking about fluff than rules- battlefield miracles, martyrdom, ressurection- these are defining characteristics of the faction from a lore (and mechanical) perspective. It's off topic for the thread, so I won't go as far with the idea as I might... But I liken battlefield miracles for sisters to genetic engineering with marines or Waaagh for Orks. It isn't just a rule- it is a defining characteristic of the faction.

There was no AoF in the index lists for SoB in 3rd (they were at the back of the rule book). They were completely new for the witch hunters list.
