Update:

Missile Launcher squad has been finished:

https://ibb.co/album/zGJWgZ

Every member is looking through the scope apart from the guy with the vox who is giving coords to the artillery. The marine without the helmet gets scanner duty as it was the case with the Tac squad because you need some consistency.

There are now 12 models remaining to be build from the AoD box:

The two characters and ten marines who will be given rotor cannon duty. I am really looking forward to a battle report with the Flamer, Missile Launcher and Rotor Cannon squad. Those will shred the poor Traitor Milita pretty hard.

Taking baby steps forward:

There won´t be much progress on this squad in the next weeks as I will be painting Fallen Dark Angels from the Dark Vengeance box set for the March Challenge. However I will try to at least fully build and prime the Rotor Cannon squad.

Work on the Kill-Team (Angels of Death/Iron Hands) for the Kill-Team Challenge 2025 has begun. The models have been assembled and a few IH bits from the Primaris upgrade pack had been added. There are also additional tech gadgets included in that pack although most of those Kill-Team models already have a lot of bling on them. So I need to see, if the addition will be warranted or perhaps saving them for the Iron Hand-specific patrol box of 2025, which will include the new IH character, might be the better idea in that case. Anyway, here is the pic:

Five of the models don´t wear a helmet because by doing so they show off the inhuman side of the Iron Hands in a very direct way. And having a bionic eye is just a fashion statement of 40K. Challenge ends on 31st of May so I should be able to finish them in time.

Update:

Armour on all marines has been finished:

And more importantly the Captain has been completely finished:

He has got seven transfers. LOL! And the one on his right shoulder pauldron is from Legions Imperialis. Truly tiny.

Update:

Grenadier has been finished:

Only one eye lens is working due to damage. A homage to Space Marine 2 where you can receive a damaged helmet with only one functioning eye lens after you have been a good brethren and purged your share of xenos and heretics.

Update:

Six Devastators from the Vurgaan clan have been finished:

https://ibb.co/album/984RtC

I am currently busy with their transport (Razorback) and hope to finish the paintjob today.

This is by the way the majority of the vintage stuff which still needs to be done this year:

https://ibb.co/album/nRDPJt

Not included in the pic are:

- All characters.

- Six trikes.

- Five bikes.

- Razorback.

- Predator.

- Two Whirlwinds.

- Command Squad

- Five Terminators (Melee)

- Terminators (Fancy version with Ancient).

The Call of Arms 2025 event has begun and I have decided to participate with a couple of models. So far all of them are dedicated to the Iron Hands and as such this thread will be used to show the process of finishing them because there is no good reason to clutter the Call to Arms thread with progress reports.

The first vow encompassed ten Veterans (vintage) which have been built in such a way that they can be used in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and even 5th 40K. In addition they will be used in a future battle report showcasing the "Movie Marines" rules from 3rd 40K. Furthermore three characters (according to 2nd 40K) are included in the first vow as well: Cpt., Techmarine and Standard Bearer.

Right now the veterans have only been primed and the characters got their armour done today:

Update:

The Standard Bearer has been finished:

https://ibb.co/album/ChHHFj

Grognards will notice that the mini is aCtUaLlY a 2nd 40K Blood Angel Death Company marine married to a 3rd or maybe 4th 40K BA standard. It only proves that every marine model looks better in a dusty Iron Hands scheme.

Update:

Armour on all Veterans has been finished. In addition the paintjob on the Sarge has been completed today though the model still needs decals and weathering. Probably finished tomorrow:

These are looking great! Is there a reason you don’t share the pictures directly?

Thanks for the praise! Well, I have a large pic collection on ibb so every new pic taken will go there as well to have all content concentrated at the same place.

Update:

Missile Launcher and Flamer has been completed:

Update:

The paintjob of the remaining models has been completed with the exception of the right shoulder pad which needs to be a dirty white for the black Avernii clan icon:

https://ibb.co/album/ChHHFj

Tomorrow the shoulder pad, decals and weathering will be done to complete my first vow for the Call to Arms 2025.

Vow #1 for the Call to Arms 2025 has been completed:

https://ibb.co/album/3kwC37

I added pistol holsters for the Standard Bearer and Techmarine as well as a banner for the Sgt. Sadly the silver icon on the banner doesn´t look as good on either white or black.
In addition squad numbers have also been applied to the veteran squad. Though I will do pics which show off these details tomorrow.

With the first vow completed there is no good reason to take a break. I just recently gave my bionic arm a fresh injection of blessed Martian oil and the holy work continues. This fella stood around my glass cabinet half-painted since the end of last year:

He needs a bit of work on his face but apart from that the painting is done. Tomorrow decals and weathering will be done as the red oxide paste needs to dry over night.

And speaking of taking vows here comes my next one although this time the limelight is on the heresy (how could it not with such lovely leaks) as my intention was to finish the AoD box before the next edition comes out. So I need to finish the Rotor Cannon squad before the 26th of July. The two big characters from said box will continue to sit in their respective sprues as they are just too tall and chonky. This means other models will need to be painted and those will be two Apothecaries and the Praevian because these three have been built months ago:
