To me this looks like it could be something for the Genestealer Cults. The little ridge bits where the shaft meets to top reminds me of the plates on a Genestealer's head and I feel it generally has a GSC look. If they need another icon carrying type character.

Possibly but it also looks a bit like something tomb king related.

If it is GSC though, it may be the staff of their rumoured big brain guy (the only new model they're getting I think. Aside from the kill team brood brothers, GSC rumours are thin on the ground)

This is definitely GSC, good spot!

We've got the Codex coming up soon but there's also genestealer themed expansion coming to 'Munda to, I think?

Probably GSC psyker with big head for 40k. I think they will have (not so) subtle differences in necromunda.. comparable to Squats - LoV. As I think specialist games is very (understandably) intend to make their settings their own, distinct from main studio settings.

And while this image doesnt say much, its clearly based on the 40k cadpool

So a GSC of this guy?

Man already looks like a messed up GSC guy tbh.

Oh forgot about that, though I don't think Necromunda models get shown off in this previews, do they?

Thats the one I use as a placeholder in my rumor/prediction graphic.

However GSC dont really lack generic characters, and I always felt it would be interesting to explore named characters.

For example :

GSCmarines.thumb.jpg.3d418308bc012796e0d3dd697ebaefdf.jpg

I really like those concepts, I do think it makes no sense for loyalist marines stylistically.. it just doesnt fit well.

imagine a nomad renegade spacemarine (bonus points if it in fact IS cassius but that would be very hated by ultramarine fans), on his own crusade against the tyranids, by leading/manupilating cults as his temporarily armies. Thats just a dumb quick idea based on existing concepts on how GSC characters could work.

But I half wonder if this rumored one might be one such idea.

There's been multiple Necromunda models in rumour engines over the years. There's also been Limited Edition sculpts, resin sculpts, Blood Bowl, Cursed City, Blackstone Fortress, Warhammer Underworlds, Horus Heresy, The Old World, Kill Team and Warcry. Only Middle Earth and Epic scale haven't been used so far.

I think another thing never in the rumor engines was 40k starterset miniatures, interestingly enough.

I saw cog teeth and my mind immediately went in the wrong direction. All of these guesses make more sense than Mechanicus right now. The GSC looks most likely. I hope we get to find out soonish even if I don't collect them.

huh, that´s weird indeed, could be some renegade techpriest for GSC too?

Wasn’t the Epic scale Warmaster titan’s ‘loin cloth’ armour featured on a rumour engine? Or was that just a tease for the reveal event?

Edit: To answer my own question, no it appears that was a reveal show sneak peek and not a rumour engine.

It's really the top part where it looks like the stylized spine ridges on GSC icons that clinches it for them most likely in my book. Also the fact that the flanges are pierced off-centre, and asymmetrically.

The overall major icon / curve for Lumineth seems to be 'elliptical crescent', wheres GSC is a bit more ' curving crenellated', and Slaannesh is somewhere like 'circular / asymmetrical crescent'. Then admech are just 'cog', but to me the flanges on this piece are not nearly square enough for that.

So it's really close, for sure lol.

I'd agree that GSC don't really need another character, although the remaining niche that'd be most nifty to me is basically 'mechanic' to make Mad Max mutant truck lords a thing. Or big brain guy I guess... I just want the classic Broodcoven setup of Patriarch/Magus/Primus to make sense again instead of triple Primus.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

GSC do not need another character. We’ve got plenty already.

Unfortunately it’s much easer to release a single unit for the codex related release than it is to release a new squad. So maybe it is for GSC.

But why would a GSC character need another staff or icon? We’ve already got two magus and an iconward, not to mention the regular neophyte and acolyte standard bearers.

Rumours strongly suggest it's another psyker, so they may be using the staff to prop themselves up. Assuming it appears on that model and isn't teasing something else.

With Combat Patrol-GSC now "Sold Out Online" since yesterday, a previsible move once time is coming close to release date of reedited codex and usual associated reburishing of the starter box, we might get confirmation sooner than later if this bladed cog like banner pole preview goes on a new GSC model... I am yet puzzled: I do not really see any necesity for a new GSC unit or character... Except redo of brood brothers that we know is coming with KT...
