Army coming together nicely. How did you do the glowing runes on librarian?

Archies forge have some really good bits, I have the BA sarcopaghus they do saved for a brutalis as well.

Stegadon scale green into sotek green into temple guard blue into Balaroth blue.

Glazed it up similar to a power sword.

Your productivity is always commendable, and so is your skill!  That black is smooth, and so is the red!

Thank you, it's a first army so has been a lot to learn but putting in the hard work and I've gotten good at trick photography. Thanks again for your tips with the Dread.

That's actually partially a lie. First attempt didn't get past the purchase of 1 box of DC.

Started these 7 years ago but life got in the way. I should say this is my first army I can actually see.FB_IMG_1727271124924.thumb.jpg.faca5dc75ed18467982fb0ece74a716d.jpg

I bought 3 paints and a wash for those lenses and thought I did an amazing job. Turns out I have a great imagination.

Just wanted a bit of a break from the DC dread so did the slap chop on the Baal.

Will finish the DC dread tomorrow and get the Baal base-coated in colour) metallic. Might even assemble the 10 man squad of DC too.

Jumping around a bit after over a week off painting. Bought a paint rack and organised my desk a bit better.

Absolutely burnt out but it's the easy bits left to do now. DC dread basically finished except dawnstone highlights.

Death company itself will be easy, I am just struggling for motivation. Btw this counts as my contribution to Orktober.

Starting 10 man DC assembly. Have them mostly sprayed and cut off sprue into bags. Lots of pieces (around 20) for each Marine but since I've had the 3D printing of knock offs explained I won't complain about that.

DC dread basically done, I'll post tomorrow and then hook into the Baal + DC assembly.

Are you semi painting the slap chop step or is it mainly drybrushing?

Little bit of both. The eshin is quite thinned down but in the whiter celestial grey spots there's dry brushing.

I'll admit I am still learning and there's not a lot of method to my approach other than transition and texture.

I've been thinking of these guys for a while now. Brother Darius is a Sternguard sergeant, who a bit like Captain Tycho, was scared badly by Orks. It was his first campaign as Sergeant and his squad was wiped out by a rampaging Squiggoth, which he ultimately slew alone.

Hailed by the rest of the chapter as a hero Darius was haunted by the loss of his brothers and began a slow fall to the rage that earnt him both great respect and pity from his first company brethren.

Brother Luccio was Blade guard and fell after not long after the battle on new Caliban and the return of the lion. Always quick to bare his fangs his descent was rapid and bloody and stands as a warning to the other Primaris in the first company.

Only the voice of Astorath himself  could calm his rage and now he stands ready in penitence,IMG20241018232502.thumb.jpg.0ba1a29dc1084add30c1bbb853470592.jpgIMG20241018185407.thumb.jpg.f0872a068d9b1372110dc9306b1f27f6.jpg for one last charge in the name of Sanguinius and the Emperor.

Niiiice! I like your DC a lot. Did we already got a better look at your DC Dread?

I am honoured you are following my WIP that closely, thank you.

The Dreadnaught is nearly done, I am just burnt out a bit with painting so taking my time. I don't have a lot of painting experience too so sometimes I just leave it at a stage to process if I like what technique I've tried.

My Lemartes conversion about to lead Death Company. I actually really liked the new one, it was bold and different but still Lemartes but I've always wanted to do this conversion.

The new Astorath is nice too, I never owned the old model and this one looks more lithe, more deadly.

It just makes me wish the Sanguinary Guard was more like Dante or Astorath. What's the point having wrist bolters if they aren't using both hands on the power weapon and don't get me started on their cankles.

Astorath has calves, wings and is welding a weapon 2 handed with a haunting death mask so it can be done.

Funny story, I got high (legally and responsible use of pot applies) when I was assembling Astorath and thought I'd lost one of the jet pack thruster caps.

Single thruster cap model. Won't get that 30 mins back.
